Dr. John Toth

I saw Dr. Toth following an urgent care visit for acute shoulder pain. Because urgent care had already stabilized my pain with medication, I was not there for immediate relief. I was there for what I expected an orthopedic specialist to provide: an expert analysis of my urgent care X-rays, patient education, and a plan for what to do when my current steroid course finishes. Instead, the visit lasted less than five minutes. Dr. Toth never physically examined my shoulder. Although my X-ray showed a calcium deposit, he did not explain which tendon was affected or the size or characteristics of the deposit. I specifically asked whether my sudden onset of extreme pain could indicate that the calcium deposit was in the acute resorptive phase of calcific tendonitis. He quickly dismissed the possibility without further evaluation. I also specifically asked whether an ultrasound might be useful in evaluating the deposit, but he said no without offering any explanation. I had presented to… urgent care with sudden immobility and 10/10 pain, where my X-ray documented calcification, and was sent specifically to an orthopedic specialist for follow-up. When I saw Dr. Toth, however, I received no physical examination, no meaningful interpretation of the imaging, and no discussion of what phase of calcific tendinitis I might be experiencing. Why follow up with a specialist if the evaluation provides no more information than I received at urgent care?

I had badly damaged my rotator cuff in a fall in 2001 and aggravated it in 2015. Doctor Toth repaired my shoulder Jan 16, 2016. I was 74 at the time. Following therapy with Foothills Sports Medicine, in Gold Canyon, I have excellent range of motion. I have nothing but praise for Dr Toth and Foothills Sports. Medicine.

Dr. Toth is an awesome physician. I had knee problems and instead of pushing for surgery Dr. Toth gave me other alternative and helped me back to being active again. I would highly recommend him- great work ethics and very professional!!!

I recently had knee replacement surgery and I can't say enough praises for Dr.Toth, the recovery was quick with limited pain he is also a very caring Dr. He also did a rotator cuff surgery 7 yrs.ago and again with excellent results,if your looking for an excellent surgeon look no further.

I had surgery and did great. I read multiple reviews and completely disagree with the negative posts. I had only positive experiences and visits. I have recommended multiple people who shared my experience and had only 100% positive things to say. I wouldn't hesitate to return if I had to. I am bringing my mother to see him. After seeing others, he is the only one that I trust.
