Sandra Steele, NP, is the perfect associate for Dr. Ferguson's group. She walks in the door and dedicates the time and patience that is needed for ever visit. She gives 150% when it comes to making sure your visit is thorough. I often think of her as my Doctor. She is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Her expertise is phenomenal.

I have been seeing Dr. Ferguson for almost 20 years. He is an exceptional doctor. He is very thorough and explains everything clearly so you understand. I would highly recommend this doctor.

Good stuff: Dr Ferguson is very knowledgeable and doesn’t rush you. Bad stuff: regarding writing scripts. He refuses to phone, fax or electronically send in prescriptions. Everything is hand written. So if you do mail order or don’t like to wait at a pharmacy , this won’t work for you. His staff is very pleasant but nearly impossible to reach by phone. Majority of the time no one answers or you get a voicemail.

Outstanding physician. During my tenure as a nurse for over 21 years, I have worked with physicians all over the world and Dr. Ferguson is one of the best PCPs I’ve ever seen. Very thorough, caring, and professional. He methodically addressed medical issues my husband has had for over 2 years that had been ignored by his previous PCP and several specialists, and he graciously puts up with all my questions-lol. Highly recommend him. Even the office staff is great. The only negative with the office itself is that it is very difficult to get through to them at times, an issue I’m told they are addressing.

Not sure why there are a few poor reviews for Fredericksburg Primary Care. I have been a patient of Dr. Ferguson for 15 years and never had a single bad experience. The world does have a number of negative people who can't be pleased, I guess. The staff is always friendly and Dr. Ferguson does not mind actually listening to his patients. On a scale of 1-10, this practice is a 10.

This doctor takes the time to explain every test and listen to your explanation of health concerns. He is very reassuring and has a wonderful bed side manner. I highly recommend him.

Doctor Joseph Ferguson devotes a lot of time to his patients, unlike many other doctors, he listens, explains and answers all questions in a comprehensive and understandable way ... avoids using medical terminology that is incomprehensible to many of us. I feel very lucky to have found a doctor like him. I highly recommend it.

great doctor, takes time to revue your labs

I've been seeing Dr Ferguson for around 25 years. I started going to him because he excelled at spending time with his patients, and I have stayed with him for the same reason.
