Dr. Joshua Robert Langford, MD

I originally left a review in 2020, but I wanted to update it now that I am seven years removed from my surgeries. I saw Dr. Langford at 16 years old for an osteochondral defect of the talus in my ankle. He performed an OATS procedure, harvesting cartilage from my knee to repair my ankle. Six months later, I required a second surgery on the same knee to remove a plug that had been implanted during the first operation. At a postoperative visit, Dr. Langford told me, “Sorry I used you as a guinea pig. That’s the first and last time I’ll ever use that plug.” Hearing those words as a 16-year-old athlete was devastating. Before these surgeries, I had never experienced knee pain. After the first surgery—and especially after the second—I was left with chronic knee pain that has never fully resolved. When my mother and I expressed our concerns, we felt dismissed and were left to find another orthopedic surgeon to address the problems. Starting over after two surgeries was incredibly… difficult. Years later, CT scans documented the condition of my knee following those procedures. My new surgeon requested my records, and we discovered that portions of the records we expected to receive, including operative documentation, were missing or had been redacted. That experience only added to our concerns. Another experience that made me uncomfortable was receiving an intraoperative photo of my ankle via AirDrop directly from Dr. Langford’s personal iPhone after surgery. Because it was a Live Photo, I believed it had been taken on his personal device, which I felt was highly unprofessional. Looking back, I also do not feel that my family was adequately informed before surgery. I do not recall being told that an experimental plug would be used, nor do I recall being informed that a student would be closing my incision. Had we understood those things beforehand, our decision-making may have been different. Seven years later, I am still living with pain in both my ankle and knee. These surgeries ended my ability to pursue collegiate athletics and changed the course of my life. I deeply regret choosing this surgeon and cannot recommend him based on my personal experience.

Is the best in my opinion. I was not able to walk without a limp let alone run with proper posture and after his medical knowledge and Gods guiding hands I have completed my first Marathon this weekend 3-4 yrs after a long year of leg correction from long time injury. Thank you Dr. Langford

Dr. Langford was very confident. Dr. Langford was confident he could repair my leg after a specialist in Lakeland said he would not touch it. I have not set up the follow up appointment to schedule my surgery yet but intend on doing that in a couple of weeks.

So many thanks to Dr. Langford. Three other doctors told me that I needed my leg cut off. Thanks to him, I am have a leg to stand on and I am back to living my life!

Dr. Langford did a wonderful job with my husbands foot, his ankle was shattered and there was the risk of him loosing his foot do to his accident. We are very thankful for a great skilled surgeon!

In my opinion doctor langford is a very experienced doctor.And he is very hands on.His work is amazing I am living proof that he can preform miracles on anybody.I gladly appreciate him and his team for saving my life and giving me the ability to walk again. He is just a wonderful person and a life saver.so thank you doctor Langford for saving my life and getting me back to good health.

I love Dr. Langford. He is accessible and caring. He is a smart man and I wish every doctor was more like him
