I am impressed and very happy with my 1st appointment with Dr. Bustillo. He took his time to hear me, understand with compassion my condition and symptoms, and he explained with so much detail my treatment and what to expect. The office staff was very professional, caring, and very nice. I recommend Dr. Bustillo to anybody who is looking for a great and competent doctor. Thank you! Magaly H.

I left this experience feeling defeated, unheard, and completely devalued as a patient. This review is for the office staff, specifically the female office manager named Chris and the receptionist, whose actions were not only unprofessional but deeply harmful. As someone living with chronic joint pain and suspected Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), I followed the appropriate process through my HMO. I visited my primary care doctor, received a referral to a rheumatologist, and contacted this office to get help. What followed felt like a cruel game of red tape. The first time I called, the office manager (Chris) told me they would not accept the printed referral from my PCP and insisted it be faxed directly. I complied. After days of waiting, I called again, this time met with rudeness from the receptionist, who transferred me back to the same manager (Chris). That’s when I was told, despite now having my referral, they still wouldn’t schedule me because the diagnosis didn’t use the… exact words “joint pain.” I explained politely and calmly that I experience daily, debilitating joint pain and other symptoms related to hypermobility. I told her that my PCP suspects EDS and that I desperately need to see a specialist for confirmation and guidance. She interrupted me repeatedly. She dismissed me. She told me that “rheumatologists don’t treat EDS” and that there was no point in me being seen. It was incredibly disheartening to be spoken to like I didn’t matter. To be told, essentially, “you’re not worth our time.” I was not asking for anything unreasonable, only a fair chance to be evaluated by the doctor. The worst part? This office manager (Chris) is not a physician, yet she acted like she had the final say in my care. Her lack of empathy and willingness to shut patients out is harmful, and I know I’m not the only one who’s experienced it. These types of encounters can delay diagnoses, prolong suffering, and push people to give up on seeking care altogether. If this clinic truly cares about helping people with chronic illness, they need to reevaluate who is representing them on the front lines. Nobody in pain should be spoken to this way. I left that call in tears, not because I was denied an appointment, but because I was treated like my health didn’t matter. That’s not just poor service. That’s harm.

Hi Chris you nasty nyer piece of shit,. Marion county code enforcement says I need a permit if 25 or more people participate in your picketing of Dr Bustillo--office. So I will be picketing his office with 24 people. You way that bustillo commented about you, it sounds like he is sleeping with you, a member of his staff. Show

He is caring, and listens to you. He offers alternatives to medication you can no longer take. He just left LeeHealth, I'm trying to find him.

Dr Bustillo is arrogant and doesn’t provide care if you’re in pain. He’s in the wrong profession as he is not a people person and seems not to care.

I love Dr Bustillo's direct communication. I find it very hard to believe Dr Bustillo has received ANY bad reviews. He is upfront, direct, and truly cares about his patients. He does not give up on his patients. This is a very frustrating disease to have and often takes several tries to find the correct medications and Dr Bustillo's persistence and caring manner help keep me positive and motivated to keep fighting.

I was seeing this doctor a few years back and I cringed from fear everytime I had a follow-up appointment. All he does is send you for lab work, then wants took see you back. When you do, he'll just sit reading the lab work, does not interact with patient, and if you happen to raise a question or complain about how sick the medication is making you, he is rude and yells at you unwilling to listen. The staff and nurses never took accurate messages when you called in, leaving a lot of crucial information off the chart. Prior to seeing him, three other Rheumatologists diagnosed me with Lupus, he changed my diagnosis and when I asked him why, he's response was "it will hurt you, if I I put Lupus." What the heck does that mean?! When it came time to apply for disability because I was so sick, this doctor refused to help me with the forms. If you're looking for a doctor that cares, he is not it, keep looking.

Dr. Bustillo has been seeing me for 7 yrs. now and I have NO complaint about his care or the staff. He & his P.A. have even referred me to orthopedic surgeon when my arthritis has warranted surgical intervention. He has always had an excellent bedside manner, listened to all of my symptoms to get the total picture and never overlooked even the smallest detail. He was extremely helpful with having my disability benefits approved last yr., , after 20+ yrs. of wearing out my joints in a very demanding field. Maybe there were office issues yrs. ago, and I'm sorry for the pts. Who were affected by it, but I've never experienced anything negative.

If I could give this Dr and his staff less than one star, that is what he deserves. Incorrect diagnosis causing me to have permanent joint damage due to incorrect treatment. Worst bedside manner, extremely rude front office staff, no follow up. License should be revoked. Pathetic!!

Very poor staff,communication to Dr. impossible. Records have got to be a messbecause nobody seems to know what is inrecords.To bad there are not more options for thisspecialty, if there was these people wouldnot have jobs.
