Dr. Justin Michael Caplan, MD

I had a great experience with Dr. Caplan and his office. In general it takes time to schedule at Johns Hopkins but his staff is professional and gets it done! Dr. Caplan was great. Explained everything. Answered my questions. Nice, polite, professional and fun. Spent plenty of time and made me feel confident about my understanding of risks and benefits.

Dr Caplin did an anyeurism clipping on me last week. He is one of the kindness, caring doctors I've ever met. He takes time to go over every last detail. He includes questions from family members so they are involved in the experience too. He is a very skilled surgeon. Although it is only 1 week out for me I feel so much better than I thought I would! He had a fabulous sense of humor which is how I cope with scary things in my life. Although this surgery was quite frightening for me, Dr Caplin made me feel at ease so I could actually do the surgery. He spent so much time both before and after the surgery with me. But only is he a fabulous Dixie but he is a fabulous person a well. I cannot say thank you enough to him. If you need a neurosurgeon I cannot think of anyone who can match Dr Caplin!

Dr Caplan performed brain surgery on my husband 8 weeks ago. He was amazing from start to finish- he explained everything and allowed us to ask every question imaginable related to his condition and all the options. He was patient and thorough and even has a sense of humor. He cares deeply about all the details and risks and is highly skilled. The surgery and recovery went perfectly. During the follow ups his bedside manor was just amazing.

Recently Dr Caplan called my cell phone personally and provided all my care while in another state. I then was transferred to Hopkins where he stayed involved on his weekend off. His care was excellent and exemplary. He did this on a Friday and wasnt even on call. Very friendly and professional. Top notch care and bedside manner.

Was a long time patient of Dr. Colby, who left and now Dr .Caplan is taken over. Despite multiple phone calls, Dr. Caplan never took the time to speak to me personally. It was always one of his residents or assistants who communicated with me. When I finally met him in person, he was short with me and rude. For an angioram procedure that i have had many times before, Dr. Caplan warns me that i might have a major stroke or die in his hands. unacceptable.
