went to see dr , helland before thanksgiving at piedmont physicians at buckhead and was told she was out due to surgery and was to see dr. powrell instead ! waa greated by dr.powells medical assistant i had never seen before and she was a jamacian woman who did not understand and comprehend english very well ! she could not understand me and i could not understand her either ! kindly ased her three times if there was anyone besides her that spoke and understood english better than she did ! she just stood there in a daze and did not respond ! i then had to ask her three times to leave ! again she stood there in a daze with no response ! after the fouth time of telling her to leave she finanally left not to return so i left and scheduled another appointment when dr. helland would be back ! was greeted then by an employee represenitive that stated the foreigner did not feel safe working ther and to find another doctor ! this is fine by me because i do not need a doctor like karen … helland who has numerous bad reviews on the internet and when i asked her if she knew about them she said she did not bother to read them nor did she care about them because she was too busy taking care of her patients ! if she really cared about her patients she would read her reviews and care about what her patients say about her on social media instead of padding her purse !

I went in for lower abdominal pain on the left and right side. She told me I had a femal hernia and referred me to a specialist to have surgery. I said something again about the pain on both sides and she blew it off. A hernia isn't suppose to be painful, but let's say it was because of the hernia what about the pain on the other side of my body away from the hernia? It's hard to find a Dr that truly listens to you. Who else knows their body better than the actual individual!

When I told her my medical history and my drug allergies for my extremely high familial cholesterol she didn't seem to care or listen to what I was saying. She didn't even do a physical exam and seemed in a rush. She ended prescribing me the drug class that I was allergic to. After developing severe side effects from the medication, and contacting her numerous times letting her know to please change my medication to something else, she informed me she was giving up because she didn't know what else to give me. I can't believe it! Where did she go to medical school and how is she still board certified? I would never recommend her to anyone.
