Dr. Katherine Kilgore, PhD

I have extensive experience with theory from both PhD's and MFT's, and my partner is a psychologist. Without question, Dr. Kilgore was the worst psychologist I have ever been to. I found Dr. Kilgore both unethical and incompetent, and still to this day regret not filing a complaint against her, and while that is something that is just not in my nature, I have finally decided that a public review should be stated. What peaked my interest about her was an ‘imago’ profile that she provided that (supposedly) would give a comprehensive amount of information. There were flags from the onset: She had me sign a 16 page contract, she could not stay focused or on-point despite my best efforts, at one point she confessed that she had a strong case of ADHD, and lastly, stated that I obviously did as well, even though she had not yet done any analysis or testing. On this last point I told her that I had previously seen a very experienced ADHD specialist that concluded I unequivocally did not… have ADHD, but she was un-swayed. Never-the-less, I proceeded with the profile with the assurance that it would provide great insight to my psychology (and help me with PTSD). When I completed the extensive questionnaire she suddenly had a follow-up questionnaire for me to fill out, and refused to give my any feedback from the first. After filling out (and paying for) the second form I asked for her analysis and once again she refused to give any, stating the answers lie in how I filled out the form. I asked if it showed any indication of ADHD, and she said no, but she was certain I had it even though nothing showed. Finally; at the time I was completely dependent on Medicare for the payment. She gave me complete assurance that it would be covered by Medicare. This later turned out to not be the case, and demanded payment. I have read some of the positive reviews. I suppose if someone does not have much prior experience with therapy, or they have a lot of chemistry with her they might find her helpful in some way, but overall I would not recommend her.
