Dr. Kazimierz Walter Komperda SR., MD

In 2022, I saw Dr. K for worsening pain in my thigh/glute. It began years before, due to a dance injury (I fell hard into a split and heard “POP”) Prior, I’d seen colleagues of Dr. K who’d done MRI & EMG, showing that my problem was NOT lumbar. However, Mt. Sinai had switched records systems, so 5 y/o results were no longer available. Despite what I told him, Dr. K felt convinced that my problem was “not my specialty”. So, we did the same diagnostics again, confirming I’d previously had injury to my hamstring tendon, (consistent w/falling into a split!) I was also taking Tamoxifen -prescribed by my oncologist, also at Mt. Sinai - a drug that affects tendons. Consults w/Dr. K were brief, offering no guidance whatsoever. One day, I took a lunging step to restrain my 2 large dogs, and avulsed my hamstring. I couldn’t afford surgery or recovery. Now, it’s hard to walk and stand for long periods. The extra strain on my stronger led to foot/knee/hip problems. I now can’t do my physical… job. I’m 50 y/o schooling full time towards a profession that will allow me to sit, barely surviving.
