Dr. Kent David Schnell, MD

He is extremely knowledgable and very personable. There is not a better doctor in the Clear Lake area!

Dr Schnell is awesome. He listens and he answers your questions. The staff is great. Overall friendly and helpful. Even through Dr. Schnell has a very busy office they will work you in if you are ill and they are booked for the next two weeks.

Dr. Schnell is an outstanding diagnostician. He asks lots of questions, is never assuming, and is always thorough in his explanations. He has a kind but firm manner that my husband and I both find reassuring. I wasn't sure how to rate the wait time because it varies. Often we are escorted to a room within minutes of arrival. If the wait becomes a bit longer than 30 minutes (I chose it as an average) I know it's because another patient is receiving the same time and care that I will. Occasionally a patient with an obvious acute need is seen quickly or worked in. There have been times when I was in the same position as that patient so I donâ??t mind an extra wait. I know that when Iâ??m seen, I will have his full attention and care. He spends ample time with me, appropriate to what my need requires on any given visit. His staff has always been friendly and kind to us. There have been a few times in the distant past when I felt someone was having a bad day, but it did not… affect the care I received. People who are unhappy with any type of product or service are usually the ones who speak up (as they should.) Those who receive what they expect and deserve don't make a practice of calling a manager or contacting customer service to say so, or leaving positive comments on the web. It's human nature, I guess, that we all tend to take the good for granted. My comments are based on years and years of experience with Dr. Schnell. He has our confidence, our respect and our appreciation.

Great docter!!! Nursing staff is HORRID. Recipionist is just awful, refered me to another docter, when I asked what type of docter he was she said "I don't know". She can't read lab work results, she is just horrible. Too good of a docter to have such a horrible staff.

Dr. verbally told me to double up on meds, but when I called in to renew, this staff still had me down for old pres. Two times they have filled it for single dose. They don't seem to be listening. Staff for the exception of one or two are snotty twits.

Really good Dr. Staff is getting better.

I came here to write a review for my 1st appointment with Dr Schnell, only to read that the problems I was going to write about have been going on since 2010. Dr Schnell, when your staff problems have been being brought to your attention for YEARS now, I have to take a step back and ask myself if your inability to make significant changes in your office is any reflection on the care you will give me in the future? I have to wonder about your ability to make positive and accurate decisions. How can you continue to ignore your patients comments about your rude and unprofessional office staff?? Your staff is rude, unprofessional and in need of another type of job!

Long story short Dr. Schnell really needs to clean house and get new office help. I have been his patient since 1995 and I am seriously thinking about looking for a new Dr. He is awesome but his office staff are rude and never do anything in a timely manner. It should never take 4-5 days to get your prescription filled but that's the way it is with his office. He really needs someone working for him who cares as much as he does. I hate to say it but your office staff needs to get a taste of unemployment.

I've been a patient of Dr. Schnell's for 8 years and really trust him to take good care of me. He always tells me what I need to know in terms that I will understand. He has a very busy office and I think the other comments are a reflection of how the staff handles stress. I have noticed another change in personnel and think it is a good fit now. I was very pleased with my appointment yesterday from start to finish. I have recommended Dr. Schnell to all my friends and family and they love him as well.

I have been increasingly disgusted with one of the nurses on Dr. Schnell's staff, and after today I'm not sure I will be back in his office because of her. My mother is currently in the hospital, and I called just to ask if he had made his rounds for the day because I have a few questions about my mothers health. The receptionist did not put me on hold she just said "hey jeanette is dr schnell still here or did he leave for the day?" jeanette replied "why who is that, oh my gosh she is such a pita just take a messege and get rid of her" In case you didn't know pita stands for pain in the as*. I might be considered a "pita" to you, but I am just concerned about my mother. Why are you in healthcare if you are going to be so heartless?Before this incedent we've had issues with communication. Any time you call in with a head cold, bladder infection, etc and need medication called in it will not be called in until the end of the day, and nobody ever calls you back to tell what that… something was indeed called in. You are instructed upon calling that you need to check with your pharmacy after 4:30. Your office closes at 4 so if my pharmacy didn't get your message I then have to wait another night being sick without medication. When Dr. Schnell has been on vacation we've seen his associate Dr. John. His staff is courtious and always returns phone calls timely. You don't have to wait 8 hours to get something called in. I don't know if Dr. Schnells staff holds messages until the end or Dr. Schnell doesn't answer messages, but something needs to change.
