Dr Deital is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. He has provide myself and my wife excellent medical support for a variety of back problems. He has a unique ability to provide and convey very effective orthopedic support and guidance. Barbara and Michael Martorano

Extremely late, talked about himself/family the whole time so I could barely speak, dismissed my concerns, did not help at all, actively injured me further. Dashed off a useless PT referral somehow not knowing that his office is refusing new PT clients. Office completely unhelpful: "We're not taking anyone, no." So I just wasted hundreds of dollars and hours of my life AND MISSED WORK for nothing except more pain from his manipulations. If this is the only doctor you can see, stay home. Worse than useless.

Had my first appointment with Dr Deitel after my discharge from St John hospital. Sustained injuries are fractured vertebrae and torn ligament to my leg. Am currently in a health care center for physical and occupational therapy. Dr. Deitel had X-rays done on me to evaluate my progress and explained how long it would take for me to heal. Stressed how I need to continue with physical therapy to heal and strengthen my body to eventually be strong and safe to go home. Good and informative first visit. Friendly and welcoming.

The Absolute Best Doctor I’ve ever seen I have never had such a caring and kind Doctor like Dr Deitel I was Crying when I got to the office and by the time I left he had me literally laughing and I couldn’t believe how he was so thorough explaining everything to me I just am so pleased with him and I can’t wait to go back

Condescending, talked over me and was not interested at all about talking about my condition. All he wanted to do was talk about himself. It was truly the worst doctors appointment I’ve ever had in my life.

Kevin Deitel misdiagnosed my mom. Failed to diagnose a T11 compression fracture and prescribed physical therapy which made the pain worse. He did not recommend further MRI imaging. He appeared irritated to have to evaluate her because she was an add on and wasting his time. He did not listen, did not properly evaluate, rushed through the eval and did not perform certain tests during his physical examination that he documented that he did on his report. My husband, a doctor noticed this. He asked my mom what was wrong. She stated she had back pain. His final diagnosis “Back Pain”. By far, one of the worst doctor’s appointments ever. Do not recommend.

I have consulted with 3 spine doctors and finally found a doctor who listened. The other doctors recommended aggressive surgeries which I want to avoid as long as possible, or forever. Dr. Deitel examined me and concluded at 80 I am doing well. His conservative approach includes physical therapy and epidurals. I appreciate that he looks at each patient as an individual rather than recommending one-size-fits-all surgery. If a laminectomy is in my future, he will be my surgeon.

Such a nice experience the staff where very pleasant and the doctor made me feel very comfortable he listened to me and I never felt rushed…

When presented with a chiropractor’s opinion, the symptoms of piriformis syndrome, combined with zero progress from an epidural in my spine, Dr. Deitel referred me for unnecessary back surgery. Without ever exploring other options or consulting with other medical professionals when my pain level did not correlate with a minimal disc bulge, Deitel recommended back surgery I didn’t need which caused delay in recovery from the real medical issue, piriformis syndrome. Piriformis syndrome, a sports injury, masks symptoms of sciatica and has nothing to do with the back. Deitel took advantage of my extreme pain and impaired opioid state, by medically recommending surgery for a minimal 3mm disc bulge which resulted in an incision wound infection and absolutely no progress towards my unrelenting sciatic nerve pain. Further, Deitel and the Ventura Orthopedics staff were completely unresponsive to me as his patient in addressing this mistake. Be careful, this physician was obviously more… concerned about profit than patient welfare. BEWARE!
