There is no way Dr.Mays is not five-star all the way. I've been a patient of his for at least 12 years. He's hands down the best in KC

Dr. Mays is always in tune with my son and has always given him is undivided attention. He has a wealth of knowledge and looks for the best possible solution that will help us. He is able to communicate with my son when others can't. Why go anywhere else? I like the staff there, too. I have always found them friendly in spite of the fact they are a busy office.

I have had the privilege having Dr. Mays as my doctor for years....He is always striving for the best treatment. The man knows meds backwards & forwards and is totally informed on all the new and upcoming treatments. If he's taking on new patients, he should be your first call.

I take my AS teenage son to Dr Mays for ADHD medication. Dr Mays is calm, soft-spoken, & not intense. He makes you feel at ease so my son is very comfortable with him. He is thorough & listens. As the mom, I often have a comment or two to add & he always welcomes my input. We would recommend Dr Mays to our friends & family.

I saw Dr. Mays in excess of 10 years. When we moved across the state in 2012, I would make trips to see him until two years ago. I felt he was an excellent doctor until, when finding a new psychiatrist, the dosage of Xanax was so high (7 mg/day) it was not prescribed by the new physician. In 2 days I went into full-blown withdrawal, with seizures, until another new psychiatrist saw me and put me on a low dose of Klonopin. I feel now that I was overprescribed benzodiazepines. I came close to dying while in withdrawal. Very terrifying situation for my husband and me.

As other people have mentioned in prior reviews, Dr Mays is one of the most kind, empathetic, intelligent and patient doctors I've had contact with. His knowledge and experience is very apparent after the 1st visit. As we all know, it's very difficult to seek out help in the mental health world and to have somebody who listens, is thoughtful and empathic goes a long way.
