Dr. Keyvan Abtin, MD

This surgeon should have his license revoked. He performed a surgery on me that I later learned I should never have had. He came into my hospital room after the surgery, yelling at me because he wanted me to leave the hospital so he could get paid more, as it detracts money from him if a patient is not recovered in the time the Surgeon says they will. It was traumatizing. The surgery made me worse and left me more disabled then before. When I told him I was having worsened symptoms he immediately denied it. On top of this he is a narcissist who enjoys belittling people and was constantly making rude remarks to my family. Save yourself, go somewhere else.

Dr Abtin and the entire staff have been a God send for my daughter. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and believe in your symptoms.

The WORST neurosurgeon I’ve ever seen. Arrogant, interrupts patient, demeaning in speech. Does not allow you to explain your problems fully without using terms regarding prior dignosis’ and if you refer to them, he will interrupt you rudely, reminding you NOT to speak of diagnosis’.... only symptoms. He will not review prior imaging nor will he take other doctors opinions into consideration. Is NOT up to date and versed in complex Neurological diseases and will end up seriously injuring a patient under his knife with his own arrogance.

I was looking up Dr. Abtin's phone # & info today and realized I did not ever put a review regarding my experience with him. He was very professional and to the point. I had received opinions from 2 other neurosurgeons which were both different than each other and from him. I suffered for several years, went with him and am so glad I did. This was back in 2010. It took about 2 years to totally realize I was back to walking, hiking, able to sit and stand for longer periods of time. I would recommend anyone who has back or neck problems to get his opinion. My only complaint was the nurse practitioner he had at the time. I can't remember for sure but think her name was Linda. She was rude and not compassionate at all. Hopefully, he has changed this situation.

I don't have much to say other than the procedure was supposed to have me back to normal walking in a month, been over 10 years now and pain has only worsened never at any point got better, I cannot directly relate cause of symptoms to the dr. As I do not know if it was just me it didn't help, however I couldn't walk without a walker/cane for over 6 months and that was very slow recovery considering other people supposedly were back to at least where they were before the surgery after a month or so. I do wish he would have followed up with me a little more after finding out I was still in horrible pain. I would suggest strongly weighing the pros and cons of opening up your spinal column before going under the knife. Overall he was a competently educated doctor.

If you need a great surgeon who will treat you as a person and is great surgeon visit Dr. Abtin.

My experience with Dr. Abtin was excellent. He explained my surgery in detail and made sure I understood everything. His staff is very professional and an asset to the medical profession.

My daughter and I met Dr Abtin for the first time today!! He was wonderful...explained everything we needed to know about my daughters upcoming procedure...pros and cons!! He was very concerned about my daughters wellbeing...he made her feel very comfortable!!

Without a dough the Best doctor one could ask for, He is Very ON TOP of his game, & proactive. Great above and beyond bed side manner. Easy to get appointments. Prompt and never had to wait. Office Staff are very educated and are able to help with any situation. Over all rating 10 out of 10 from me.

I have read these other negative reviews of Dr. Abtin and Iaugh. Dr. Abtin operated on my neck in 2007, doing another approach from another Dr and his failed attempt. Dr. Abtin was amazing from start to finish. He broke it down for me with exactly what to expect. I have had no neck pain since 2007. I now have to have back surgery, unrelated to this surgery and I am looking at how feasible it would be to go to him again. I live 5 miles from the Mayo clinic here in Florida and I would rather see Dr. Abtin. Do yourself a favor and if you are having issues, see Dr. Abtin.
