An Echols Scholar and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Dr. Brown also completed study-abroad programs in Mexico and Italy. Dr. Brown received her medical degree with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1997, where she received the American Medical Women's Association Glascow Memorial Achievement Citation.
Dr. Brown completed her internship in general surgery and residency in Otoloaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery while at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. During her residency, Dr. Brown was trained in all aspects of otolaryngology, but especially enjoyed her eight months each at the Children's Hospital of Alabama and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Brown's practice encompasses all aspects of general otolaryngology, with special interest in pediatric otolaryngology and endocrine surgery. She is board certified by the American Board of …Otolaryngology and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Brown and her family enjoy spending time outdoors. Her community involvement has included the Junior League of Raleigh and the Wake County Commission for Women.
