Dr. Leonard Fritz Tassy, MD

Dr. Leonard Tassy at Kaiser performed surgery on my shoulder labral tear. I am very satisfied with his communication, and it seems (so far) like everything went well. Despite getting hundreds of messages from neurotic patients like me, he still responds quickly--even at close to midnight. (If you see this, I am so sorry! Didn't know you would receive notifications so late.) He has well over a decade of experience and he teaches other doctors. I would absolutely go back to him if I could choose all over again. I'm annoyed that I'm finding many negative reviews for him that have nothing to do with his performance--like one saying he didn't look them in the eyes when talking.

Even though my MRI showed 2 miniscus tears and a partial ACL tear, Dr. Tassey recommended that I continue taking iboprofen, ice the knee, reduce my activities (perhaps because I am over 65 he felt I should stay at home!) and wait for the knee to become really bad and get a knee replacement. He spent all of 10 minutes with me. The X-ray showed I had arthritus but the MRI showed the tears. I think he should retire or get additional education. I am getting a 2nd opinion.

Dr. Tassy did multiple surgeries on my knee and did a fantastic job. He was very attentive and really cared about my recovery. I had a unique case and he took the time to fully explain everything and make sure that I was the one to make the final decisions after he made me aware of all my options. I really appreciated his professionalism through my entire process.

Dr Tassy has repaired both an ACL and Meniscus on my knee. Both surgeries went as explained. Dr Tassy and his staff have been great to work with. From my first visit to the office, I always felt like I was in great hands. I would recommend him and would not hesitate going back if the need ever arises!

Dr. Tassy is not the problem. Kaiser will over charge you. Their support staff from the nurses to the billing people are ignorant, incompetent, and often unprofessional and unsympathetic.I am scheduled for surgery to repair a torn knee, but because my surgery is "elective" (meaning I walk with pain - BUT I CAN walk), hence i have to wait 3-4 months to get surgery.I wouldn't recommend Kaiser to anyone.
