Dr. Lise Anne Guay-Bhatia, MD

NOT THE DOCTOR YOU WANT TO SEE TO PRESCRIBE EYE GLASSES OR FOR REFRACTION. HER SPECIALTY IS LAZY EYE AND SURGERY. SHE IS VERY CARELESS AND NOT HELPFUL FOR THE TREATMENT OF MYOPIA WHICH EXPLAINS THE DIFFERENT REVIEWS . SO IF YOU CHILD SIMPLY NEEDS GLASSES, DON T GO THERE.

Shocked beyond words that Dr. Guay would get a bad review. I have taken my two children to her for over 17 years (at the same practice for those accusing her of moving around). She is alway courteous and takes time with us, never left us waiting for long. Contrary to the other reviews my children have both come down on their prescriptions. My youngest is almost out of his glasses and his amblyopia has corrected almost completely without surgery. I would question why anyone who has a child with 20/20 sight would take see an opthamologist, those reviews seem strange to me. My one complaint is the front office staff at the Aurora clinic is often rude and not helpful. I wish the Copley office had stayed open.

I am shocked by the negative reviews I have read here. I have taken 2 of my children to Dr. Guay and would not take them anywhere else now. She always comes in happy, making the child feel at ease, talks to them so that they can understand what she needs from them in order to find out what they need from her. I find it hard to believe that she would do ANYTHING to harm a child intentionally. She came in on a Sunday for my youngest after she was hit in the eye. The service paged her and we met her at the office 2 hours later. She couldn't have been more reassuring and comfortable. I LOVE this doctor and recommend her highly!

There are enough negative reviews to alert you to stay away from this doctor. The positive ones were probably posted by the doctor or her friends and family to boost her ratings. The truth is Dr Guay Bhatia thinks that prescribing glasses is beneath her so she is very careless about it. She spends 2 minutes asking a 6 yo if 1 or 2 is better , cranks up the numbers , add -0.25 D to each prescription which is outside of the standard of care. In less than 4 years, your child will become severely nearsighted then she makes sure you make an appointment for the following year.It's all about making money quickly.She will tell you that myopia is genetic when in fact overcorrection will make your child worse faster. She is very dogmatic and is not aware of the newest research on how to correct myopia, she will not offer any other option than thicker and thicker glasses.How can this greedy doctor sleeps at night knowing she made dozen of children severely nearsighted ? She should have the… decency to give up refracting kids and leave the task to doctors who care and understand it.

I had been to 2 other pediatric opthalmologists, and they were cold and business-like, and my daughter was uncomfortable. But when we went to dr. guay-she bonded with my daughter and then immeadiately my daughter was comfortable, happy, and has no problems going back to her. This was a first for my child!

had a great experience. My son was nervous, and she made him feel comfortable. He needed surgery for a crossed eye and now he is completely straight!!

Dr. Gauy Bhatia is so sweet. She has a great bedside manner. She diagnosed my son with Strabismis and was able to surgically correct his condition. His eyes were severely crossed and now are prefectly straight, still over 3 years post surgery. He wears glasses (she was able to get his prescription correct before he could talk!) He is now a happy four year old who enjoys seeing the world! She explained everything step by step and was so pleasant. She really put us at ease as we handed over our precious baby for surgery! Would definately recommend her to family and friends!

My experience was similar to the ones described. this doctor changed practice from Larson eye center to Dupage Medical group after it was discovered that she was incompetent and dangerous. Thanks to the Internet, her bad reputation is following her. She has no remorseand continue to practice outside of the standard of care. She should be reported to the Board to prevent her from harming another innocent child.

does not address patients need. Very dogmatic. Overcorrects . Not in tune with later research and new method of correction of child myopia. Stuck in the past , will make your child wear coke bottle glasses. Avoid this doctor at all cost mainly for mandatory school examination.

This doctor really has no idea what she is doing and practices at her own discretion and has no concern for the child. She over prescribes and gives bad and incorrect medical advice. It concerns me to see that this doctor is still in practice. She gives no time for explaining things and will make your child go through a miserable experience for nothing. Do be careful if you chose not to listen to this advice.
