Dr. Maho Akamatsu, MD

Horrible doctor, wouldn't refer my worst enemy to her. Her competence is questionable at best.

I find it hard to call this person a doctor. If you want a doctor that listens to your concerns and wants to get to the bottom of your health problem, then do not go see this person. Since my concern did not fit neatly into some obvious diagnosis, she must have thought that I was imagining it. She sent me on my way with orders for imaging at another facility and when they came back inconclusive, she had a nurse call me and tell me to see another specialist. She then called me in a prescription for a drug for acid reflux which is something I don't even have. Digestive problems were not part of my complaint so I don't know where she got that. Now I am back to square one and have to find another doctor, hopefully one that is competent.

Recently I found a lump and I called Cherokee Internal Medicine. Dr Akamatsu realized my concern and gave up part of her lunch time to see me that day! She was very thorough. The next day her staff called the hospital to expedite my appointment for imaging. A++

I have been seeing Dr Akamatsu for a little over a year and every appointment has been outstanding. She takes all the time you need and is very thorough, great bedside manner and her staff are also great.

Dr Akamatsu and her staff are the greatest...I would highly recommend anyone to her.....Cherokee Internal Medicine...they are the best!
