Dr. Manikum Moodley, MD

We love Dr. Moodley. He is a GREAT neurologist and goes above and beyond! Wish you were still at the Cleveland Clinic.

I have Chiari. Had decompression surgery while I was in New York. After moving to ohio, for 2 years I was given the run around by Akron Childrens. All they wanted to do was medicate, not find the problem and then the solution. The pain was becoming unbearable. My mom knew i was reaching my breaking point. She started researching trying to find a solution. Through a chain of events i was brought to Dr. Moodley. Within 5 minutes of me explaining my issues and some tests, he had found the problem subsequent to my Chiari and had a treatment plan. I have been able to function fairly normal since meeting him when I was 16; I'm now almost 30. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Moodley. He listened, treated me as a person not just a number, and truly cared. I owe him my life.

A terrible physician who discriminates based on previous mental health diagnosis. My 14-year old daughter did not receive any help from him because he thought "it was all in her head'. He refused to do any comprehensive testing because "it was all in her head". Two months later she was hospitalized.

We traveled from Knoxville TN to Cleveland for my daughter that has been ill for 8 months. She was diagnosed In Knoxville with POTS/Dysautonomia by a pediatric cardiologist. We wanted to get more help for her and thought she would have received the best of care at Cleveland. Dr. Moodley only preformed two tests and said my daughter did not have POTS or Dysautonomia. He took her off all her medicines for the illnesses. Thankfully we found an excellent doctor in Herndon Virginia that was very upset after checking my daughter for an entire week with tests. He said she has severe POTS and severe Dysautonomia. Our trip to Cleveland was a complete waste of time, energy, and money.

Dr. Moodley is very friendly, and also very smart and accurate with his diagnosis.

Both of my daughters have dysautonomia. We could not be more pleased with the care, compassion and interest shown by Dr Moodley. He and his staff go out of their way to accommodate us. His findings have been right on.i would not take my children to anyone else.

We have been taking our son to Dr. Moodley for years now and couldn't be more pleased. We contacted The Cleveland Clinic after having waited months to get into another hospital. We were scheduled with Dr. Moodley within 2 weeks, and every experience has been a positive one.

My daughter had been having odd symptoms for over a year but then when she passed out and ended up in ER that was it. She saw a pediatric cardiologist to rule out anything with her heart and then we began to seek out a physician who specialized in autonomic disorders as EVERY single symptom she had pointed to this. When he spoke to us, he agreed and advised the usual diagnostic tilt table test. He kept getting paged and leaving the room and when I tried to ask him about follow up especially because she was starting marching band in the heat within a few weeks, he blew me off as he was backing out the door and said, "don't worry about it, see you in 6 months!" My husband took her for the ttt. She was having a non sick day and passed the test. They stopped it when she said she was feeling sick. Even her pediatrician looked at it and said it was done incorrectly. Every single time she is feeling sick she has a dramatic jump in her heart rate from around 80 laying down to 120 sitting… and more than 150 standing. That is also a diagnostic criteria. When I tried to get some answers and ask for another test, his "new nurse" who was a complete idiot told me to have her keep increasing her fluids and salt intake. Yeah, been doing that for 18 months already sweetheart. Then she told me that he suggested she see a psychologist. Seriously?? She did need one because she was so sick of being sick which IS depressing. This was her first year of HS. Once we found the appropriate team of doctors and she is on medication, she has much more time when she is not sick and she is back to being a straight A student. When I am talking to other parents on the dysautonomia FB page, I highly advise that they do not see this idiot or his staff.
