Dr. Manuel Gonzalez JR., MD

I feel it is my duty to warn others, to prevent the same thing from happening to a loved one. Dr. Manny Gonzalez is the most unprofessional piece of garbage I have had the misfortune to come across. He was my ailing fathers PCP but has been refusing to properly treat him and get him the PROPER help he needs for months now. My father is in the hospital yet AGAIN, and this imbecile refuses to allow the hospital to run the required tests that a specialist at UM ordered. He also refused to talk to the nurse that called him for information and hung up on her. He has told my mother to “shut her mouth” in the past, and my mother has taken it because he’s one of the only doctors that goes to my father’s nursing facility. This moron fancies himself smarter than the UM specialist, and says my father is “fine”. Mind you, this is the 4th hospital admission for my father due to the same issue in the last 4 months. This doctor has been trying to get us to put my father on hospice forever now. He… thinks my dad is a waste of space and has basically told us that with his actions (or rather, inaction). My father is only 64 and there is still life there. He breathes on his own! He responds when you speak to him and cries and smiles. How dare he suggest that? After we called administration to find out how to go about having these requested tests given to my father while at the hospital, this “Dr.” became enraged that administration was called. With a smug, HIGLY UNPROFESSIONAL, and cocky demeanor, he comes to the hospital room (In total retaliation), and in front of my 11 year old son and dying father said he wants NOTHING MORE to do with my father. While my mom calmly explained that she didn’t call administration on him, but rather wanted to know how to proceed, he was nasty, shut her down and said... and I QUOTE.... “PEACE OUT” and put up two peace signs and left the room. Of course I was shocked and silent up until this point. When I heard this trash of a “human being” say PEACE OUT I totally lost it and let him have it. I just wanted to share this experience to warn others to steer clear of this loser, and also, ask if anyone knows who we can call to report this disgusting and highly unethical behavior. I am still in shock that someone could be so disgusting, callous, and unprofessional in front of an innocent patient and an 11 year-old kid. My father was the most gentle, kindest, intelligent, educated, polite and good-hearted man one could ever meet. HE DESERVES BETTER!

Dr. Gonzalez is a very knowledgeable physician- but needs to consider hiring an entirely new staff. A physician is only as good as his staff and, unfortunately, his staff is rude and shows that they do not care.

Wait time is horrendous. Phone calls to the office go unanswered for days. On average, I call 3 days in a row before I get an appointment. The doctor is very competent and kind, but waiting 2 hours every visit is unacceptable and disrespectful. Do yourself a favor and find another primary doctor.

Dr Gonzalez is a very good doctor. The problem is his office staff. A lot of people doing nothing right. They got records wrong, billing wrong, appointments wrong and just plain rude and act like they don't care about the patient. Appointments are ridiculous. Over two hours late on appointment and no Doc in sight. I left twice and finally just decided it's too much of a hassle to go there any longer. I will be seeking a different Primary. It's a shame, because I do like the doctor. He just lacks a decent staff and doesn't seem to be aware or doesn't care.
