Dr. Marc Eugene Lenaerts, MD

I saw Dr. Lenaerts a few years ago for headaches related to my autoimmune encephalopathy. He was exceptionally arrogant and had never heard of my disease and seemed unaware that I had been diagnosed with it by one of his colleagues. He was condescending and rude. He is the type of doctor who will leave you feeling sicker, just by his poor bedside manner.

He's a good doctor as well as giving you as much time as needed. I wouldn't go to any one else.

I wish I could say good things, but this doctor was very disrespectful of my wishes for my health after a stroke. He is completely dishonest and not trustworthy. I traveled a long distance to see him and as a former patient had to wait hours and then was told I would need to reschedule because he was still tied up with a patient. I understand and appreciate that a doctor should give full attention to a patient, but after traveling to see him, then waiting four hours, then having to reschedule is very unprofessional. However, the biggest issue is that he said he would perform tests for my illness, when in fact, he never performed them. This is inexcusable.

Dr. Lenearts spent hours talking with my family to explain a complicated condition I had. He diagnosed my problem accurately after years of seeing other neurologists. I'm indebted to him and thank him for his professionalism and concern.

Very difficult to get an appointment; great doctor if you like your appointments cancelled at the last minute. You then have to wait months to get back in.

My sister has been going through months of undiagnosed facial pain and we've seen many specialists with the UCD Health System. I've been quite annoyed at the poor customer service by most of them. However, I was very impressed by Lenaerts. He was on incredibly prompt; had excellent communication with my sister and was very personable; asked her a lot of very relative questions to understand her condition, her recent history, and much older life history; listened well to what we've tried and the results; did not rush us to get on to the next patient; and offered new insights into what has been a baffling situation for us. One of my best experiences with the UCD Health System dealing with my sister's condition. Great first impression.

He tried to prescribe a med that I had just had a severe reaction to, and got mad when I told him I would not take it! So he continued to prescribe one close to the same compound same family of drugs! And the other poster was right, watch what he puts into your file, I see he put down somatization disorder after I refused his meds,...waited 5 months to see him, he was 2 hrs late,,,,,rushed my appointment,,,never addressed ONE question, said he e-sent my report to my GP and walked out! Yes I am pro active about my health, no one else is going to be! And yes I am terminal! Oh but he did not even address any of that, noooo, he ran away! So run fast and far from him!

Dr Lenaerts was my neurologist when he practiced at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma. He was outstanding. His expertise was second to none. The concern he showed for patients, as well as the time he took to speak professionally and compassionately, and to fully understand the patient's issues - these should be the standards to which all health care professionals should ascribe. My only complaint was his promptness. He probably spent so much time with each patient, that he was often more than an hour behind schedule. Nonetheless, if your concern is getting in and out quickly, go to a quack. If your concern is seeking the best medical treatment that you can find, no doubt about it - you want Dr Lenaerts.

This Doctor was AWFUL! I have seen many in my life but he was top of the chain in horrible. I waited 3 hours for an appointment and he gave me 5 minutes of his time and said you seem to be doing well in your normal routine with your migrianes, just continue that and left. Upon transfering my medical files to another Neuro, 20 years of my medical history have been LOST!

A few doctors have seen me and didn't know what was wrong. After my struggles with severe headaches, runny eye and nose (which I almost had eye surgery for) it was found out that I had cluster headaches. After Dr. Lenaerts found out I had cluster headaches, he should have referred me to a specialist. Instead, he performed a lumbar puncture that left me debilitated. A complaint was filed with Mercy Medical Group and I was notified that he is no longer with that group. He wrote in my records that my pain was unexplainable... DUH! He injured my spinal cord somehow and now I have multiple lower extremity problems ALONG WITH MY HEADACHES. It was only unexplainable because he wasn't wiling to admit what he did wrong. Do not go to this doctor or any doctor that works out of their scope and one that cannot be trusted. Know your doctor well, and like the other reviewer said, review your records. Good advice!
