After performing cataract surgery in both my husband's eyes, one year later, one eye started having black shadows. He contacted the office for an immediate appointment. They said he could wait for his regulary scheduled appointment. By the time he got there, Dr. Macsai said he needed emergency retinal detachment surgery. He can't see in that eye anymore. Months later he needed retinal detachment surgery in the other eye.

Dr. Macsai is an internationally recognized corneal and refractive surgeon, a leader in her field and a tremendously gifted surgeon. I can attest to this having trained with her as a resident years ago and seeing her incredible talents in the operating room. She is hands down the best eye surgeon I've ever seen. That being said, she is also a wonderfully warm, caring and compassionate person who treats all patients as she would her own family. When it came time for my own father to have cataract surgery, I of course took him to Dr Macsai, who performed quick and painless surgery without stitches or even the need for eye drops after surgery. He now has 20/20 vision in both eyes and is thrilled. Seeing Dr. Macsai is a no brainer-- she is simply the best.
