Dr. Marie A Nocek Frankel

Had breast reduction surgery done by her 20 years ago. When I woke up I was very upset by the fact that they were still too big, and definitely not symmetrical. She was pretty rude; actually told me that they were still big because I was fat!! Well, then what was l doing there to begin with if all I had to do was lose weight, according to her? She screwed up and didn't take enough off, but didn't want to admit it. She also did a reduction on my friend and hers are extremely scarred all over and they look bad. Guess nothing much has changed in 20 years!

I had a breast reduction surgery 17 years ago and didn't realize how bad it was until I spoke with other people and showed them my horrible scars. Dr. Frankel blamed me for anything and everything I told her I didn't like-scars, size. She even told me that I needed to lose weight when I told her they weren't as small as I wanted them to be (I was 5'2'', 107 lbs at the time). I was young and should have gone elsewhere. I am mentally scarred by her and give her name to everyone I speak with so they can avoid going to her at all costs. I wouldn't get anything done by her again, even if it was free. She also has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen.

I was surprised to see the poor reviews as I have gone to Dr Frankel for several years and found her to be a very good doctor for skincare. But sometimes she performs a minor procedure on you during your appointment so you don't have to come back a second time. So that can make the appts back up, wait times longer and her seem like she is rushing you. I see many complaints here are in ref to her breast surgeries and maybe there is a problem but I can't speak to those. I have only had moles and such removed.

Her surgery scheduling staff member (Pat) was consistently rude and condicending to me over the phone AND in person. Her front desk staff was excellent and considerate and actually encouraged me to express my dissatisfaction with Pat to her. When I spoke to the Dr. in person about this, she casually dismissed it and did not address my concerns. When I asked Pat what the Pre-surgical appointment at Highland Hospital consisted of (so I would know how much time I would be away from my job for this appointment), she actually said "How would I know. I've never had surgery!" Dr. has NO bedside manner.

After reading everyone's reviews I was very nervous about trying Dr. Frankel. While her office seems a little outdated I found Dr. Frankel to be much better than everyone has said. She gave me a full body check and explained each thing she found. She was polite and even performed a minor procedure right during the appointment. She told me to make a follow up appointment for a few weeks. My wait time was about 15 minutes which I would consider normal. My procedure was minor...not a large elective surgery so I can only comment on my short visit. But overall my experience was a positive one.

Marie Frankel should have her license to practice medicine revoked. Her nasty bedside manner makes it impossible for a patient to provide her with the important information to diagnose properly. She butchered me during hand surgery to the point where I still had signs of bruising after 4 weeks. The hand PT group was horrified. I ended up with a very serious neurological disorder that was not treated soon enough because of her failure to listen to what I was telling her about my pain and other telltale symptoms. She showed no remorse, just sent me to the pain management clinic where they had to treat me immediately to stop the spread of this disorder.

I dont even know where to start. I went to dr frankel and I did not like her the minute I met her. But she told me she could get my breast reduction covered and she could do it soon. I agreed. I told her I had a heart murmur and wrote it on my form. when I arrived at the hospital the nurses had no idea about it and acted like it was all my fault they did not know. After the surgery I was bleeding on the left side. Dr frankel told me it was my fault because I tried to get out of bed right after I woke up. That did not happen. My left nipple is not round...she said that was my fault. She went on vacation after my surgery and I started to bleed again. I went to the dr she left on call. He was shocked at her work. He could not believe that she uses drainage tubes. He was shocked at the shape of my nipple. He would not touch me. Dr frankel was mad at me for going to see the other dr. It was such a bad experience. Please dont go to her. Her office is dirty and old.

My experience was not good. I felt very rushed and uncomfortable. She was also rude. The office and equipment were VERY out of date.

After waiting one hour for a doctor who was EXTRAORDINARILY ovebooked... my daughter and I (who both had appointments) were ushered into a room. When this doctor came into our room, without any introduction told me we would need to be seen in seperate rooms. We both stated we would like to be seen together, my daughter has only recently turned 18 and is VERY nervous about the procedure she needs. Without listening to one word we were saything she said "I need to see you in seperate rooms and if you don't like it you can leave". I was beyond words.... at that point I stated that she could see us in seperate rooms, but then I would have to think about this whole situation". She said if you don't like it, just leave... in fact go". I stated indeed that's what we were going to do. We left, and on the way out, I told her office person he had been wonderful on the phone, but that this experience was UNBELIEVABLE. I immediately (before I even left hospital grounds) called to put in a… complaint with the hospital. After this experience I called a very good friend who is a medical professional at that hospital who said she treats EVERYONE like that and that the hospital has a TON of complaints on this doctor. I asked why it was tolerated and nobody can explain why. I strongly suggest you NOT utilize this doctor. I want a doctor with compassion, not someone who truly feels she walks on water and that everyone is sub-human compared to her and that she can treat then as such or worse.

I like Dr. Frankel alot. She is blunt sometimes (says I need to lose weight) but knows her stuff. I've had several procedures by her. Some cosmetic, some pre skin cancers.
