Dr. Mariecken Verspoor Fowler, MD

Dr. Fowler is a good doctor IF you can get in to see her. Have not been able to see her in several months, have seen her PA Melissa excellent but left the practice. My husband has dementia, he was seen at the ER and they told me to contact Dr. Fowler for a follow up, the doctor at the ER also called her office. Dr. Fowler 's nurse called me about a month ago and prescribed medication for aggressive behavior, Seroquel and ativan. However this medication is having a negative effect on him. I called the office and left a message, finally after almost a week they contacted me. Spoke with another nurse, and explained the problem. She informed me that Dr. Fowler has been out of the office for a week and her nurse was also out of the office. Therefore said, more than likely Dr. Fowler would not be back in touch until maybe another week. Also suggested I see another doctor, wow good way to treat a patient that is in crisis. Now up in the air as to what to do. As I said OVERBOOKED no way if you… have an emergency to get any help. SAD.

Dr.Fowler really helped treat my concussion and reassured me I would get better.

Dr. Fowler is a great docter. She really listens to the patient & is open to hearing the patients thoughts about medication. She made me feel very comfortable. I was having a really bad a day when i last saw her & was having an anxiety attack. Her nurse was so calming & gentle tht she calmed me right down. The only concern i have is tht my eye doctor while giving me my eye exam said he saw blunt force trama in my eye. I was in a very abusive relationship, i was hit in tht eye & given 7 black eyes in tht 1 eye & was hit in tht eye with end of a butcher knife. Its been over 6 yrs since all of tht happened to me, however since then ive had the most excruciating headaches behind tht eye daily ever since. I shared all of this information with the nurse & with the doctor & my concern is tht i felt tht an MRI should be done. Alsl brain aneurysms run in both sides of my immediate family which thts a whole different type of headache i get were i feel like my brain is actually swelling &… something is going to pop. For the headaches in my eye also everything gets very blurry then i see lots of black spots then everything ends up going black. So this is a HUGE concern of mine.

Brief examination, dismissive, did not listen or ask questions for information that was pertinent. A non-productive and unpleasant experience.

She is efficient but caring and wsa able to help when many other doctors had misdiagnosed me.

She really listened to me and seemed to easily diagnose my problem. Her treatments have been very effective. Been seeing her about 2 years.

I went to see Dr Fowler after having a MRI and found that I have 2 herniated disks and disk detoriation disease. She had given me Lyrica and Gabepentin the time before to take to ease pain until MRI. I told her that I couldn't take these Meds because this summer I found out after 28 years that I am allergic to bees and was given 3 shots by my Primary CAre Physician who SAVED MY LIFE> Certain medicines make my heart RACE too fast and I can't take them. These 2 pills DID NOT HELP they made me sleepy and not watching what I was doing at work which could have cost me or a co worker their life. When I went back I told her that Flexeril did work BUT the other 2 I couldn't take. She proceeded and BROUGHT THE MEDS THAT I TOLD HER I COULD NOT TAKE AND I HANDED THEM BACK TO HER. SHE then gave me nothing for pain or flexeril or anything else BUT LYRICA AND GABEPENTIN THAT I CAN"T TAKE> I missed 1/2 days work for nothing. I am still suffering and she can't seem to find a way to get me in… for another appointment. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIMEQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
