dismissive and unnecessarily rude to patients. if possible, do yourself a big favor and schedule with a competent provider who has a genuine passion for medicine.

He was my primary care provider when I was a student at UCLA. Dr. Ackerman was super attentive, always prioritized my needs, and never failed to listen to my concerns. I got the most out of my care with him and I have not had a better experience since having to switch.

My physician for several years until I finally switched. He is habitually and unnecessarily rude, unprofessional, and confrontational.

Had a terrible experience with him. Went to him regarding a possible infection/care for an injury, and all he could focus on was my increased weight, diet, and exercise routine. He approached it with incredible judgment (not great for someone with a history of depression and an eating disorder), and was overall dismissive. Kept interrupting me too. This man should not be able to see young patients.

I guess this guy has been seeing so many students over the years that he's become completely numb to any social/conversational cues, which makes for a very uncomfortable visit. If you're versed in the area pertaining to your visit, he'll throw some esoteric medical terminology your way to seemingly attempt to demonstrate authority. Overall, he's just not a nice nor empathetic person. Steer clear if you can.

Dr. Ackerman was extremely rude and dismissive...so much so that I came home crying. I have never had such a bad experience. You'd think that someone who chooses a profession that involves caring for the physical well-being of a person would be just as concerned about their psychological well-being. What a bad choice of profession!

This was hands down my worst experience with a physician ever. He was rude, dismissive and unprofessional. He refused to address my issues and just kept complaining about how I was late, which I was not. I really can't believe he is a trained physician and if you are at ucla try to see one of the other doctors.

He was hands down the worst physician that I had ever interacted with. I saw him at the student health center at UCLA, where I typically interact with wonderful, committed health professionals, and he spent the first five minutes of the consultation chewing me out because I had to rescheduled my appointment. It completely unnerved me to be chewed out by a physician when I was already seeing him about what could have been a life-threatening condition. It was just horrible. He should be fired. He was cold and stand-offish. Moreover, he did not seem to know where to refer me and so not only was he discourteous, unprofessional, and inappropriate, he did not make up for it by is ability to diagnose or deliver service. Just horrible.

Dr. Ackerman was rude and uncaring. He gestured in an insulting way right before the visit and afterwards. He called me on my personal phone without announcing himself, and his first phrase was "you have an appointment," followed by a silence until I asked "who is this?" This guy is creepy and cold. I wouldn't recommend to deal with him in any way, let alone for a doctor's appointment.
