Dr. Mark Berman, MD

I have received multiple total joint replacements through Dr. Berman. He is and was always thorough, friendly, caring and responsive to my questions and concerns. His pre-surgery and post- surgery care was excellent. His staff was always pleasant and responsive.

The worst doctor, ever. His staff is beyond rude. He cares about the insurance company NOT the patient. Stay far away

He diagnosed my problem and told me to wear a sling. My issue is he didn't tell me the kind to wear or the proper fit. So I don't know if it is doing the proper job.

Dr. Berman replaced both of my hips; one in 2005 and the other in 2007. I am back to playing tennis again and enjoying numerous activities that I had not been able to engage in prior to the replacements.He is well groomed and very professional. He always answers questions.

My husband developed severe pain after a hip replacement. Dr Berman insisted that he go for physical therapy to a center that he was affilated with. The therapist used a leg press machine that caused a muscle tear and left my husband unable to walk. After 6 months of unrelenting pain, we went to another doctor who diagnosed a severe staph infection in the hip. My husband had to have the whole hip removed and IV antibiotics for 2 months after which he had to have another hip inserted. He went through this for one year before he could walk again and Dr. Berman NEVER called or inquired about his condition or why he did not return for follow-up. Hackensack Hospital never included my husband's information in their infection statistics and never responded to a post-op survey we completed regarding care he received. I would not recommend this doctor or this hospital to anyone.
