I tend to see patients for considerably longer than the currently \"in vogue\" 15-minute med check. Every patient-doctor interaction is part of building the therapeutic alliance--a process where, among other things, the patient grows in their trust in their caretaker. This might engender motivation to take medication compliantly, follow the doctor's instructions as far as therapeutic recommendations, etc.

Obviously, all of these things create a better environment for the patient to get better.

First Psychiatrist I met that isn't crazy!

I believe that Dr Prochaska is a wonderful physician. When you forts walk in he speaks to you and/or just ask how your doing and converses with you like any person should. He tells you like it is and for myself that means a lot. Whether it's good or bad, he's honest and forthright... I've been seeing him for going on 15-years now and I can't see myself with any other physician! No to mention he's as smart as a whip!!!

If it can be fixed he will fix it, well worth how ever long it takes to get you in. always there for me anytime day or night when I have needed help. Has been my life line for longer than I want to think about.

The long wait at Prochaska's office is due to the fact that he takes time to really listen to his patients. My husband and I both see him and feel very comfortable talking to Dr. Prochaska. This man is better than any psychiatrist I have seen.
