I had lower back surgery and out of pain for 3 years the next five years I am in pain my legs and lower back all I ever heard was FOLLOW UP? DR MARK STERN RETIRED LAST JANUARY 2025 I NOW HAD LOWER BACK SPINE SURGEON BY A SKILLFUL SURGEON, WHO REPAIRED DR. MARK STERN'S SLOPPY WORK. TO THINK HE IS PART OF THE MEDICAL BOARD SHOCKS ME. WHY ARE DOCTOR ALLOWED TO DO CARELESS WORK?

I had a ruptured disc in my cervical spine. Before surgery I couldn’t sit in a chair for more than a few minutes until I had unbearable pain and my arm would start going numb. Dr. Stern performed Arthroplasty on C5/C6 and C6/C7. I walked out of the hospital on my 24 hours after surgery and was out golfing two weeks after surgery with zero pain. Dr. Stern is an excellent Physician w/ a wonderful bedside manner. He completed his Residency in Neurosurgery @ USC & it shows... His basic science knowledge is unsurpassed among practicing Neurosurgeons in the North County area. Dr. Stern did a great job, he is great surgeon. My back pain has reduced greatly. Now I can cut back on my medication.

Long waits, rude staff. Long story but suffice it to say, misdiagnosis caused me my right leg . Please see a different neurosurgeon. Try Dr. Richard Ostrup in San Diego. He saved my life

I have been using Dr. Stern for the past few years since we moved here, and I am so thankful that I was referred to him by another professional that has worked with him for several years. As I have established care with other specialists in our area, and I tell them I see Dr. Stern also, they always talk about his high level of surgical skills and knowledge. I have had to have some revisions, and a replacement of existing spinal cord stimulators, and a new pain pump implantation. He always fully explains options and procedures, and provides excellent post-operative care. He takes his time to be sure I am comfortable and informed about a plan of care, and his personality is a delight. The office staff in Escondido are very pleasant and thorough in arranging pre- and post-surgical and hospitalization care. Thank you Dr. Stern and staff!
