Summary
Dr. Shutran is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in the care of patients with vascular problems in the brain and spine using both endovascular (minimally invasive) and open surgical techniques. He also has an interest in other neurosurgical conditions including brain and spine tumors, Chiari malformations, hydrocephalus, trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, and degenerative spine conditions. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Tufts Medical Center. He subsequently completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he also served as an attending physician and Instructor in Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
