Dr. Mei Mellot removed cataract in my left eye about 3/4 years ago. I don’t think it went too well. What anguishes me to this day was that she did not know that I had Fuch’s Corneal Dystrophy at the time she did the cataract surgery! I understand presence of Fuch’s Dystrophy has implications for cataract procedure. Patients are routinely tested for this condition. In my case, it was not be. Her pre-surgery instructions were a bit too casual as well. I need similar procedure in my other eye, but recollection of the first one makes hesitant.

Dr Mellott removed my cataract. She was professional, informative and she allowed me to make decisions regarding my own care. She was extremely efficient and my vision was corrected to 20/20 by the first post-op day.

I only had an initial consultation for cataract surgery.
