Interestingly I was reviewing my online status and saw the outlier. I remember the case specifically. As my patients know I am passionate about hospice and palliative care - which is giving patients options regarding the lengths they want to go to when facing end of life. It is different for everyone. My saying I’ve adopted is “ just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”. This case specifically: the patient was young and had two adopted young children. The patients partner was for doing everything and my patient was tired and was suffering for widely metastatic cancer. His decision was to allow natural dying yet his partner wanted him to try anything and everything. The patient ended up spending the last months of his life in the hospital unnecessarily suffering. I was reprimanded by the medical staff office just for a visit to the patient who had changed to a different provider - on request from his partner. I would like to say I am an advocate of living! I support… patients journey to stay healthy! But I also support end of life, compassionate care!

She is so negative even to terminal patients. She never offers hope but tries to push you into the grave early. Doctors certainly need to be honest and frank, but she seems to overly aggressive in trying to get you to say its over! This is so very true of her.
