Dr. Meyer H Abittan, MD

He may be a competent doctor but, boy, what a horrible experience visiting his office! Last time we waited two hours just to get called into the examining room, then another half hour wait in there. He always seems to have one foot out the door with us (but spends loads of time with more “favored” patients). And the reception staff, with one exception, is cold and unfriendly, like keepers of the flame. The doctor actually yelled at me and talked over me on a phone call some months back. That’s it for us with Abittan.

On Christmas Day my husband wasn't feeling right - numbness in his leg, woozy, headachy. When we took his blood pressure it was 201 over 120. We did not want to go to the local hospital (which is where our EMTs would take him) but wanted to go to St Francis where his cardiologist, Dr Abittan, is. We called and left a message for Dr Abittan, explaining what was going on. In just a few minutes he called us back. He was able to access all my husband's records and spent quite a bit of time with us on the phone. I know of no other doctor who would be so responsive and caring.

Explained everything, caring, patient, funny, highly competent. Top of the line.

I started using Dr. Abittan about 10 years ago. He was recommended by another doctor (head of a department) at St. Francis. I asked because I was very unhappy with my previous cardiologist. In the 10 years that I have been seeing Dr. Abittan, he has helped me through some issues. I wish every doc that I had was knowledgeable and thorough and as personable at Dr. Abittan. He makes you part of your own treatment. No mysteries or medical mumbo jumbo. I have even seen him call another doctor on the phone to ask for another opinion about a treatment course he was recommending. He did that on speaker phone. Wow, I doctor who understands that he might not know everything and isn't too proud to allow his patient to know it. You know you will always get the best treatment. If you are looking for one of the best cardiologist in the NY Metro area, he would be a great choice

Been with dr.abittan some 20 years now, and he hasnt skip a beat..excellent care..

I am a 65 year old patient of Dr Abittan, and my father is a 90 year old patient of Dr Abittan, and thanks to Dr Abittan being God sent in the nick of time he put my father through 4 invasive heart procedures within a period of 10 days in the summer of 2015, and turned ninety three years later, thanks to Dr Abittans, constant care, concern, professionalism, and most of all the perfect "mentsch" combining his knowledge, and experience , and bedside manner all in to one. Now my father and I make appointments at times together looking forward to a good laugh from Linda, the head front desk administrator, and of course the entire friendly staff, especially Debbie.

He is warm, caring and extremely knowledge. One of the best physicians I have ever met!

Such a nice man! Dr Abittan has patience, is kind and takes the time to discuss everything! You do not feel rushed.

Dr. Abittan is a caring, kind, compassionate, patient and gifted healer. After my first heart attack I was being treated by a different cardiologist at a different hospital. After discussing my care with some friends familiar with cardiac events and care, I realized my treatment was lacking. A friend was able to arrange for me to be seen by Dr. Abittan. The difference in the quality of care was exponentially better. Dr. Abittan takes the time to answer whatever questions I have, to discuss any other health issues I may have and always communicates with my other physicians. I never feel rushed and always have his complete attention during my visits. The entire staff is professional, competent and caring. I am convinced that Dr. Abittan and his excellent care are why I'm alive today. I thank God for him everyday.
