Dr. Michael Byron Mitchell, MD

I do not suggest using Dr Mitchell. His patient care is lacking to say the least. Whenever you are dealing with a patient that has a memory loss issue and you ban them after forgetting a couple of appointments, you are not caring for the patient, you are caring for your bank account only.

Incompetent and insulting I wouldn’t recommend dr Mitchell to anyone he rude and basically incompetent he don’t care about patients at all. He will yell at you and insult you and isn’t willing to listen to anything you say. I couldn’t believe he is as old as he is and only been doing this for 16 yrs! I do not recommend him if I had read the rest first I wouldn’t have. It is extremely unsettling that he is allowed to practice medicine!!!!! And the ppl in his office are trained to lie for him. So very unprofessional! I will report this dr to the proper authorities ??

I'm a 63yr old woman. For years i've been having bad flare ups similiar to MS and because i suggested they were like symptoms of MS he got mad at me and said, "You don't have MS, if you talk one more time, i'm asking you to leave." Dr Michael threatened me twice with this. He wouldn't let me speak. He didn't want to hear my symptoms nor did he care. All my symptoms didn't matter. I even brought 2 MRI disks only for him to shout at me, YOU DON'T HAVE MS. Okay then well that's fine if it's not MS can you help find what else is causing these bad flare-ups i have 3months a year but he couldn't even spend the time to listen and help me find a diagnosis. Instead he only gave me a paper saying have my blood pressure checked. My blood pressure was probably up because of him. I wouldn't recommend my sick dog to him. I drove an hour in the rain for this appt. only to find it was a waste of time and insurance money. He's uncaring, bad temper, no bed side manners, disrespectful to the elder, mean… and Green.

This Dr. had only one short visit with some info and wanted to tell me "I suspect Conversion disorder." Well, as an RN I know dang good and well if you don't know that is the case it's best to keep your mouth shut and continue to investigate what is going on with the person you are seeing. Some blood work was taken. His office told me if you feel like you need to see him again you can schedule another visit. No way would I want to return with that attitude.That didn't go well with me. Pretty much indicated to me he didn't think I had any issues. I was in tremendous pain and clearly had some issues. I suffered tremendously for months until I found a competent Neurologist that knew what was going on with me and it wasn't conversion disorder. I have migraines. It was not the kind of migraines I was accustomed to so I did not recognize it. They seemed to have developed to a more severe type that would mess up the right side of my body. But this physician wasn't interested in following up… with me or learning more about me but he chose to make assumptions. I would not recommend this jerk to anyone. Because of him I suffered so much pain for so long without help. He could have started me on something like Gabapentin. At least a pain specialist started me on something. But this polished turd discounted me and let me suffer. I think this honors dude is so full of himself he doesn't believe he needs to listen to his clients or feel he needs to followup if he "SUSUPECTS" conversion disorder. From what I have heard he has a tendency to tack this on to people and I suspect he does this when he doesn't have a clue as to what is going on with people. Be vary wary of this man unless you are something he may be comfortable with treating such as geriatric cases.

I had a seizure causing brain tumor that he had overlooked for 6 YEARS. I got a second opinion and I am now seizure free. He also put my poor sister on nearly 4000mg of epilepsy medication years ago and now she cannot function properly in front of the public. She is now 28 and has never held a job because of her debilitating anxiety due to the unnecessary extremely high doses of medication. I feel that if he had taken the time to learn more about my sister's epilepsy, she would be a much better version of herself that she is today.

Always seams concerned with overall health.

I am a person that has 4 small plates 22 screws and some wire in my head get dizzy all the time right eye won't stay like it should at all times this doctor gave me several test concluded nothing wrong with me never once offer medicine for my vertigo witch makes me very ill ask him to dig deeper to help me and he refuse call me a liar because I applied for my ssi witch I already had but got off because I felt I could work now he says I'm exacerbating and malingering because I ask what kind of doctor he was to give up on me like that don't sound grown up to me at all spent my thanks giving in er because at times its just really out of control they gave me something for nausea and vertigo what a shame can't get this doctor to solve a mystery because test did not show I get violently ill from moving to much and now he has kick me from ever using doctors from his clinic

Dr. Mitchell in Picayune, MS working out of the hospital there saw my mother, a senior citizen, while she was a patient in the hospital. I was not there at the time and did not have a chance to ask Dr. Mitchell any questions. Released from the hospital, my mother is still having the same issues. Now, Dr. Mitchell informed her that she would indeed have these symptoms for a few days. When I called to speak with Dr. Mitchell, to ask about his examination and what we could expect in the days to come, the person answering the phone at his office informed me that Dr. Mitchell will not be calling me back, that he in fact does not make calls to patients. If I had any questions concerning the examination and what he concluded from it, I could make an appointment for a follow up visit. Now, my mother had never met this doctor, he was is the doctor the hospital brought in to examine her, so this would be a new patient procedure to go through, you know, make the appointment, come to the… office, fill out the paperwork and of course PAY FOR THE OFFICE VISIT. All to get information he already has. This is unbelievable to me. No wonder health care is in the shape it's inâ?¦doctors like this, choosing to put the needs of patients behind the all powerful dollar. Sorry to have bothered the delicate genius.
