I walked into the Sylva office of Asheville Eye Associates and thought I was at a different practice. The front desk staff was very friendly and willing to listen and answer questions. The clinical medical assistant was very personable and willing to answer questions I had. Dr. Oswald was very willing to answer questions that I asked. He made eye contact while he talked with me. He explained the surgery procedure and after care.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Oswald. He removed cataracts from both eyes (with lens replacement). My pre-op visits were informative and the surgery experience itself as comfortable and easy as possible. His bedside manner is exceptional, combining professionalism with an extraordinary ability to listen and reassure. I must also praise the wonderful staff at the surgery center in Asheville. Overall, it was a near-miraculous experience. Thank you, Dr. Oswald.

Dr. Oswald is the best surgeon! He did my cataract surgery an has given me my life back. He has a very confident calming manner which really helped during the surgery. Everyone at the surgery center was great. I’m staying with Dr. Oswald for my general eye care. He takes he’s time and listens to my questions. So thankful for him.

Dr. Oswald was my doctor years ago in another practice in Canton, NC. When he moved, I had to seek out a new ophthalmologist with which I had less-than-satisfactory care during cataract surgery. I am so thankful Dr. Oswald has returned to AEA! I only wish he could have done my surgery but he is now treating my glaucoma with the same excellent care I received from him before. It really matters when one finds a doctor who is knowledgeable, caring, and takes time to listen and explain! Thank you!
