Dr. Perraut has practiced comprehensive Ophthalmology for over 25 years. He started Blue Ridge Laser Eye Associates in Columbus, North Carolina, in 1983, and he has enjoyed working with his patients in Western North Carolina and the upstate of South Carolina. Concerned about early detection of eye disease and the need for periodic eye exams, he participates in local community awareness programs. He is continually updating his skills through seminars and meetings as well as giving local informational sessions to the community. Dr. Perraut's primary surgical interest is cataract surgery with special emphasis on the least invasive and most comfortable techniques. He also offers other comprehensive services such as treatment for dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic eye care and caring for eye infections. Optical services are also available at his location through the Eyelights Optical Shop.
Dr. Thomas Perraut began his career at Emory University in Atlanta with an undergraduate degree in …biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Louisville Medical School in Kentucky. After an internship at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania, he returned to Kentucky to complete his ophthalmology training at the University of Louisville Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
