I was a patient for a long time without notable benefit. But I had no conflict with polo at all...My husband was a patient too and quit saying polo abandoned him in dire need. Then polo permanently banned both my husband and me from the clinic ! He had no reason to ban me but spite. My husband's only crime was complaining about being abandoned. The polo got all the other psychiatrists in the group to ban both of us too !! Astounding . We did NOTHING to deserve it, and banning me was truly arbitrary. He didn't help me to find another psychiatrist. He just told the receptionist to tell me I was banned permanently from the whole clinic. ! I detest him for hurting us. What a coward. So we're both discarded with no notice and no continuity of care. Instead of helping us transfer to someone he blackballed us so our meds were cut off suddenly, which is really dangerous! We still have nowhere to go and desperately need psych care. So far we've just found someone in another… state to meet with for 5 min a month ! Polo has violated every oath and done so much d

I'm still deeply scarred by him years later. my wife and I were patients for several years until I became very bad off mentally but couldn't get any response from polo after a month of desperately trying. he effectively abandoned me in my worst state, so we went to someone else until that person retired. I didn't know anyone else and I rationalized that at least polo knew my history. I got an appointment with a long delay and I had run out of my meds and dangerously went cold Turkey which was dangerous by all acounts . imagine my shock when after waiting many weeks and going really bad without meds, his office called - an hour ahead ! and told me my appointment was canceled and I was banned from the practice. then the person on the phone said I was banned from the entire clinic, with no justification except I expressed by dismay perhaps when he effectively abandoned me. they his representative told me my wife, who had had no conflict with polo, was also forever banned from the entire… clinic. he is a cruel and vindictive man.

I still don't know what set him off. 1 star it too good for this cruel guy who promised first to do no harm.

If you prefer to throw your psyche, your soul and your power away to a bogus Book of Woe (Greenberg) boy in a white coat, Michael is your man. He will pretend to be frank, open-minded, friendly, and cooperative to your face only to blackjack and gaslight you covertly behind your back on your medical records if you call him out (gently) on the bankruptcy of his profession and insist on protection from his dangerously dope-headed DSM-driven medicalized monkey business. Don't risk going to him unless you are a pitiful soul who is looking for quick fixes/instant comfort at great long term cost or unless you already know what you are getting into and just hope to learn more about his priestly but oh-so-profitable psychiatric racket. Instead read The Guru Papers by Kramer, The Myth of Mental Illness by Szaz, The Importance of Suffering by Davies, In an Unspoken Voice by Levine, Choice Theory by Glasser, and/or Anti-fragile by Taleb and use your OWN inner and outer sources of wisdom to… restore your own power and control over your OWN life. But don't take my word for it. It's your life and it's your journey. No one can tell you what's best for you but you yourself. Just stay far far away from the poisonous Planet of the Apes apes in psychiatry and in all medicalized or 'clinicalized' mental health professions, IF your own psychic integrity, psychological power, and personal dignity matter more to you than does the living death of a stigmatized, robotic, 'disordered', psychotropic dopehead with no libido. Be particularly wary of PCP's who play psychiatrist because they too can be very very vicious with bogus DSM label blackjacking when they get their underwear in a wringer for whatever reason. If you do go see Michael Polo for whatever reason, be sure to pull your records right away so you can be sure you don't get blackjacked or gaslighted behind your back when you politely honor him with the opportunity to show some professional spine in person. He's not an intentionally evil guy and he could be great at his game if he combined some serious professional courage and honor with his natural (surface) compassion. He's just weak, authoritarian, and interested in going along with his mindless but profitable profession's program at whatever cost to you is all. Paradoxically, his surface niceness makes him far MORE dangerous than are the overtly arrogant apes in his profession because you can't see him coming.

I was not happy with this doctor. I am now seeing a therapist instead who emphasizes therapy over pharmaceuticals.

Treats you like a lab rat. Multiple drugs prescribed, none worked. Not big on therapy. Ran out of suggestions and was thoroughly stumped.

Dr. Polo is so caring! Appts are usually 20 mins long, but if you have a crisis or are going through a very difficult time he allots more time. When prescribing a new med, he allows wants a call on how it's working. He also makes a pt of following up on the effects of the med a your next mtg. He's just a really great Dr.

Dr. Polo cares about his patients and speaks to you as an individual, not a case number. He remembers everything and his kind disposition makes him very easy to speak with. I look forward to my appointments with him because no matter how difficult my life may get, I know I will leave feeling supported & with great advice on how to move forward. He has a great sense of humor and always in a very pleasant mood. He does have many patients and it may take a few months to get in as a new patient, he is worth the wait. I would recommend him to any friend in need of a wonderful psychiatrist.

Too many patients ,I need more than 15 min every other month.
