Dr. Michelle Lee Sagan, MD

Dr Michelle Sagan misdiagnosed my 15 year old daughter’s condition. After examining her, Dr Sagan gave us two options. She recommended physical therapy to see if it would alleviate her pain or option two was to have an MRI for further evaluation. Since my daughter was in excruciating pain; barely able to walk , we opted for the MRI. Dr. Sagan’s Nurse Practitioner informed us the MRI results indicated my daughter had a dehydrated and bulging disc. She gave us an order for physical therapy. After two months of weekly therapy my daughter’s pain was not subsiding. We sought a second opinion presenting the doctor with the same radiological notes and MRI images. This doctor immediately saw other things. He ordered x-rays and tests to determine my daughter had a fracture. She underwent months of therapy for a bulging disc when she should have been treated quite differently for the fracture.

Dr Sagan is excellent at explaining the options for diagnosis (imaging) and treatment as well as including the patient, a teen in this case, in the decision making process.
