Dr. Nadia A Toshani, MD

I did not feel heard or respected during my visit. When I tried to discuss ongoing anxiety that affects my ability to function, the provider became dismissive and the interaction felt confrontational rather than collaborative. The visit ended abruptly, and I left feeling distressed and unsupported. I am seeking care elsewhere.

I have been try for two months to get a prescription renewed and the staff are not responding and keep calling in the wrong ones.

From my title you can see I am 87years old. 50 of those years have been in the Tri Cities. I returned her in 2007 after living in Western Wa. for 25 years. I was shocked upon my return to the Tri Cities , uable to find a physician to fullfill my particular needs. I had the unhappy experience dealing with a physician, whom I like, but her staff was mean spirited. After several unhappy experiences I fortunately found Dr. Toshani. Without making this lengthy I wish to add that I find her competent, caring and has been such a delight to find someone so knowledeable, personal. Rose Sullivan

Dr Tashani is plain spoken. She doesn't beat around the bush and is frank and honest. It took my husband a bit to appreciate her but now she has his complete respect. She has seen us both through strokes and my husband has had serious health issues that she has handled wonderfully.

This Dr should go back to school. Absolutely unprofessional. e.g, the office calls and says it is urgent that a patient make an appoint, and when the Dr sees you, she asks "Why are you here ?".. The Dr does not do homework, must read the charts in your presence as if your case does not matter, no prep at all, and asks questions to which she, only, has the answers, but seems unwilling to share or explain your situation. Further, the Dr is rude when you try to discover answers, and even shouts at patients. Absolutely the worst "bedside" manner ever - rude and impolite as well as unprofessional in care. Do yourself a favor, find someone else.

She was flighty, going all over the place. I have several illnesses but her cure all was for me to lose weight. Hello, I am not dumb...I know I am over weight. Every time I saw her she would harp on it. She would write one thing down about my medications and then she would order something different.

She tries very hard to get people to do what she wants regardless of what they tell her... Her bedside manner at hospital is impatient.. She is not very happy if you question her about the problem your having and if there are other avenues. Very sad that she seems to overbook and that her patients are just a number. Really not understanding the patients needs and concerns..... I do like her attempted enthusiasm.

I was not happy at all with the visits. On my first appointment, I was turned away because of a small insurance discrepancy that could have been handled with a quick call from the from the front office staff, but they rather had me call my insurance after cancelling my appointment, while I was standing at the front desk. I had a babysitter for my kids so I could see Dr. Tashani that day so cancelling the appt. was a huge inconvenience. I had to wait three weeks for my next appt. at my next appointment I had to take my two kids with me (since I was unable to find a sitter) and Dr. Tashani had a front desk worker come into my waiting room and state that she doesn't allow children to be in the room during the visit. My kids are well behaved I stay on top of them at all times they caused no disturbance what-so-ever, it is just Dr. Tashani's personal policy. Someone (I trusted) was able to watch my kids in the front waiting room while I went back to see Dr. Tashani. Dr Tashani came in… almost emotionless and said the usual formalities like a robot with a thick accent. She asked a series of the regular questions and added a little more than what was called for to the line of questioning which was border-line, rude to me, (My wife is a nurse and is also currently enrolled in a D.O. program, so I know a little about how this should go down). Needless to say the Dr.'s bed-side manner left me with the feeling of not being 'worthy' of her time. I was at the appointment to simply have a prescription re-filled and have her take over my quality of care, (since I just moved into the area) and instead I was left feeling as though she assumed I was a 'drug seeker'. On a good note, she does have every new patient before the next appt. go to the lab and have them run a series of tests that not many Dr.'s will do and she said that she does that with each new patient.

I just would like to say, Dr Toshoni has worked so hard for me. She tests me like patient not a number or another appointment. I feel like she really cares about meds other drs have prescribe. She takes me to heart and really cares about me, that's hard to find today! I come from a large family of medicine. So I know when I see a dr who cares, I have other drs who I only see the PA, I haven't got anywhere with them. I highly recamend her, she cares and so important!

My personal experience with Dr Toshani . Because of her Quick thinking and competence, She saved my life four years ago! I feel very deeply she know's what she is doing and does it very well. She is an excellent Dr that I would recommend others to go to her. She always has a smile and a positive attitude. The only time I have experienced her being stern with me is when I repeatedly have not listen to her about loosing weight, and only because she care's about my overall health. I understand that she can not treat my over all health if I continue to not listen to her about loosing some much needed pounds. I am a difficult patient, with many problems and It is my fault that I am on so many Prescriptions. If I lost weight I possibly would not have to take two different blood pressure meds . and so on. Is she perfect, no , no one is, and like the rest of us we all have our very very busy days and not enough time in them. I can not imagine how frustrating that is to Dr's like her who… care . I do not care for the computer only because unlike the chart when she opened it up it had my personal DPA right there, and the computer does not.As far as my medical care goes, the one big difference we have is over the use of Blood. My Religious conviction and conscience will not allow me to take Blood . I Do Believe that she Highly Disagrees religiously and as a Doctor on the use of Blood Transfusions. I would not continue to go to her if I did not Believe that She would Respect my religious views if it came down to it. She is in her Heart and as a Doctor in the business of saving lives. I Do believe she would Respect my personal and religious convictions, as she would most defiantly want others to Respect her's. I have never connected with a Doctor like I have Dr Toshani. She is the Best there is out there . I to like that she encourages the use of supplements as well and not just prescriptions.C.D : )
