Dr. Narasimha Patiba Rao, MD

I’m writing to express my appreciation for the excellent support I’ve received from the front desk at Dr. Rau’s office, especially in light of some less favorable comments I’ve come across. As a new patient, I’ve had two recent appointments—on April 14 and May 6, 2025—and both visits were made noticeably better thanks to Angela, who was handling the front desk on those days. Angela has been professional, attentive, and consistently helpful during each of my interactions with her. Whether managing incoming phone calls or assisting patients in the office, she remained calm, efficient, and friendly throughout. Given the concerns some have raised about administrative support, I think it’s important to acknowledge the scope of what Angela handles. From what I’ve observed, she’s responsible for answering phones, scheduling, providing printed information, and fielding a wide range of patient questions—all on her own. That’s a significant workload for one person, especially in a busy medical… practice. While many might expect a team of staff to manage these tasks, that isn’t always the reality in today’s healthcare environment. In this context, Angela’s ability to maintain a high level of service and professionalism is truly commendable. Of course, no one is immune to occasional missteps, particularly when managing so many responsibilities at once. But from my personal experience, Angela has been consistently courteous and capable. It would be unfortunate if isolated criticisms were assumed to reflect her overall performance or dedication. In closing, I want to highlight the positive role Angela plays in the patient experience at Dr. Rau’s office. She brings competence and kindness to her work, and I believe she deserves recognition for the valuable contribution she makes to the practice.

Poor staffing support. Call backs from nurses poor. Poor inter office medical communications on all levels. Doctor himself able and highly experienced.

Firstly, Axa, is the receptionist and she is wonderful! She has knowledge of everything going on and deals with patient compassionately and effectively. There are a few practitioners but mine is Dr. Rao who owns the practice. He is an elegant, professional presence, rare in my experience. He placed 2 stents into one artery and spoke to me during the procedure. This heart attack was a complete shock as I had no history, no symptoms. Gregg is his PA and is first class in every respect. He listens well, explains with authority and patience and, again, is the best. Kim is the nurse and also renders very competent service. I feel very fortunate and grateful to them all during this bumpy period.

The Desert Heart Physicians office in Palm Springs has excellent service. The people who work there are so friendly, kind, and very welcoming. From the moment you step into the office, to the moment you step out you are in a safe environment in which people truly look out for you. The receptionist Axa welcomed me with a smile, and didnt grow impatient with my many questions on the papers I filled out. The nurse was also very kind, knowledgeable and very welcoming. Dr. Rao was amazing, he was very smart, and very patient, and explained in great detail what I needed to know. Everyone in this office was so friendly and welcoming, I highly recommend this office.

Dr Rao has been a well known Cardiologist in the Palms Springs valley. His office is very modern and classy just like Dr Rao. He has been my parents heart dr for over 15 years. His staff is just as good as him. His nurse Kim treats you like family. She is very caring and COMPASSIONATE. Her sensitivity to my parents is wonderful. I dont know the name of the receptionist but she is just as sweet. I highly RECOMMEND Dr. Rao.
