Dr. Nathan Richard Selden, MD

Dr. Selden performed a shunt revision on me in 2008. I recovered well and Dr. Selden took great care of me while I was in the hospital.

One of the best Neurosurgeons out there! I highly recommend him!!

Our son had surgery with Dr. Selden 9 years ago. He was so sick before his surgery & has been 100% healthy since. Our son can drive a car, ski, golf, live a perfectly normal life and this year he will graduate from high school & go to college. I can't even remember if we had to wait a while in his office or irrelevant details like that. These doctors are busy & stressed & most of us can't even imagine what they do in a day. Thanks god for smart people who learn how to do these specialized surgeries & give families back their lives. We think he is the greatest & so does our son!!!!!!!

My son had surgery with Dr. Selden in 2011. We were up against a wall to have a specialist that meets my sons needs so we ended up there. He has NEVER been on time for any appointment we have had in 5 years. Usually takes him at least an hour to grace us with his arrogant presence. He is always hurried. His staff,with the exception of Morgan, is unfriendly. Your child is a number, not a patient in this clinic. Dealing with children and worried parents you hope for greater empathy and professionalism. I had previously reviewed his scans with another Dr. and they showed significant impingement at his cervical junction. When we arrived for the appt. he finally came in the room and said things look great and see you in a year. I said- hold on. I've been told he has severe impingement. He asked who ordered the scan! I told him he had!! He hadn't even looked at it and was going to send us on our way for a year. Had we not known about this before our appointment, we would have… left and if our son had fallen just the right way, he would have been a quad or dead immediately! Unbelievable!! You will never get him on the phone. You will only deal with residents who have no idea what they are doing. You do not want to experience this unless you have no other options. We are currently in the process of seeking another pediatric Neuro for his future care.

We live 80 miles from Dr. Seldan's office and my daughter had an 11am appointment, but she was not seen until 12:20. We finally had another doctor come in after I had to go to the desk and let them know that we had a schedule to keep. Then he came in and said that she didn't need a neurosurgeon. When Dr. Seldan finally came in, he insisted that she didn't have a tethered cord and that he was very skilled in what he did. His tone was very condescending and didn't help to improve the mood I was in after waiting for over an hour for our appointment. He may come highly recommended, but personally, I don't like his bedside manner.
