It would help to look at MRI results before diagnosing and then not be able to correct it because he would look like a fool.

Dr. Long has a very broad approach to doing orthopedic surgery. In my situation, he did rotator cuff repair, torn bicep tendon repair, bone spur removal in my shoulder, etc. Dr. Long asked many questions before recommending surgery. In other words, surgery is a last resort with him!! He was a "second opinion doctor", and I decided to have him do the surgery. He was excellent!! He spent 20 to 30 minutes with me to explain my condition and his best recommendation to correct it. He was informal, approachable, and VERY patient-oriented!! He is very aggressive on therapy, as he wanted me to start doing certain exercises immediately upon arriving home from the hospital. I followed his instructions and am recovering beautifully from this very complex surgery which has a recovery period of about six months!! I would HIGHLY recommend him for shoulder surgery!! You can't go wrong in selecting him!!

Great bedside manner. Explains medical issues at lay person level. Smart man.

Nathaniel did a good job of examining my shoulder and then giving cortisone shot right on the spot. My other orthopedic surgeon I have usually gone to kept saying we can't operate yet, and did nothing else. Shoulder immediately felt better than it has in 15 years (even though he said it might hurt for a while first)!

Fully described procedures, timing and methods needed for surgery. Informed and educated us about the procedures but the decisions were ours. Recommended him to another patient who was in hospital for another surgery to have him do the shoulder surgery he needed.
