He’s a fantastic doctor! I highly recommend him. He has significantly changed my life.

Had hip replacement over a year ago and have had problems since then. He referred me to his partner for pain management, who didn't help. My thigh is numb and eventually got a second opinion. I may need to have surgery again but first I'm having an injection in my tendon. I have never been so disappointed in a doctor like I'm in Dr Gerken.

Highly recommend this skilled surgeon. Dr Gerken is the best out there!

Dr. Gerken immediately diagnosed my problem with my left hip, he was energetic and had a wonderful bedside manner. He might be young, but he is very enthusiastic and friendly. I wanted him to replace my hip, but my Mother insists that I go to a doctor we've never met on the advice of my uncle (a retired spinal surgeon in San Antonio who's steered me wrong on every surgery). Instead I'm to see a surgeon with less than stellar reviews (again, on his advice), because my mother likes to name-drop her semi-famous brother, and I always end up with an incompetent surgeon. Hope I get to see Dr. Gerken again.

When we were out of town in Chicago my daughter’s leg was very swollen, she had no feeling in her leg and couldn’t walk. Not only did Dr. Gerken get right back to me, he also recommended a very good hospital that specialized in pediatrician othopedics in the area. He even followed up with the ER staff several times and advised us as to what was going on and what to expect next. His responsiveness and professionalism at top notch.

Dr. Gerken took great care of us after my son broke his arm. He has great bedside manner, he’s amazing with kids, he’s very thorough and he followed up with us several times suing and after treatment. He’s the best!

I have the greatest respect for Dr. Gerken who is professional in every way and put all my concerns regarding pre and post hip surgery to rest. I am so pleased with the outcome for BOTH hips and have confidently recommended him many times. He’s as kind as they come, too.

It is rare when you employ a doctor who has fantastic abilities with a tender and caring heart and then has a wonderful bedside manner. This is Dr. Gerken- hopefully, I will never have another hip surgery again, but if I do, I have a very skilled surgeon I can call on.

He’s so knowledgeable and personable with great bedside manner. He cares deeply about giving the best possible treatment for the patient and I felt confident in his suggestions. Highly recommend.
