Dr. Nicholas Jacob Schor, MD

Dr. Schor really helped my mother with Alzheimer's disease. He visited her at her home and helped me navigate the complicated transition to a dementia care facility where he continues to follow her. He has been VERY responsive to my questions and concerns, always the same day, as well as those of the facility as dementia can be very hard to deal with sometimes. He doesn't accept insurance or Medicare but unfortunately I have found that you get what you pay for. I have not heard of any other psychiatrists that see dementia patients and are willing to come to the house.

Poor diagnosis of close family member. Prescribed inapprobriate medication without checking with other attending doctors (especailly the cardioligist).

I have been a patient of Dr. Schor's for 2 years and he has been very helpful in the treatment of my depression. He takes a lot of time(4 hours in the first appointment and half an hour in follow-up visits) and educates me about my illness and treatment options. He is VERY available and returns calls quickly. The only down side is that he doesn't accept insurance (but I do get some reimbursment). I have found that doctors who take insurance don't spend enough time with you and aren't available when you need them, that is why I see Dr. Schor
