Dr. Norma Lake, MD

I have found Dr Lake’s office to be exceptional. Appointments are easy to access and dealing with Dr Lake specifically has been not only informative but a pleasure as well.

Dr. Lake is a great doctor and a marvelous human being.

I have been Dr. Lake's patient for many years and was very happy with her thorough checkups and with the time she dedicates to each patient. Her office visits are usually without a wait. Unfortunately, the front staff-which consists of one lady, often a new hire as there seems to be high turnover- has turned me off to the practice. I was running out of medication and needed to see the doctor before she would prescribe more. The front desk told me there were no available appointments for the next 3 weeks. I then asked for a one month refill to hold me over until I could see the doctor. It took her almost two weeks to fill the prescription. The front desk lady said that the pharmacy kept her on hold so she was not able to call it in. I offered to pick it up, but was discouraged. After a week of not taking diabetes and high blood pressure meds I was furious and insisted I'd stop by. Later that day I was informed the prescription was sent in to the pharmacy. This is not the… first time I have issues with getting refills, especially since they don't have a system where they can electronically send it to the pharmacy. Unless I see the doctor and she personally hands it to me, it is always a mission. I am sad to say that I will find another doctor. I cannot put my health at risk over poor office staff.

My daughter started seeing Dr. Lake so I started seeing her too. First appointment I was late by 15 minutes and she refused to see me and made sure I got the point she wasn’t going to tolerate that. I could respect the fact that she didn’t like me wasting her time. I scheduled a second appointment to my surprise no vital signs were taken, this lady hardly examined me at all, she even tells you to get to the point and I was just describing my symptoms which I found so rude and unprofessional. It’s like a factory she just want to see as many patients as she can, so to her it’s just a business she doesn’t really care about the well-being of her patients. I told her I have asthma and I needed a referral to see my pulmonologist, this was on May 20th, I kept calling the office and Ann would leave me on hold because she knew what I was calling for, this doctor is understaffed and the only girl she has there “Ann” is the most ignorant and incompetent person I’ve ever come across. It takes… nothing to get a referral, I know because I’ve worked in the medical field for many years. In one of my many calls to this office I was told by this girl that “she’s the only one there, she had other things to do and she’ll get to it”. If you value your health and like things to be fair don’t waste your time going to this doctor.

Dr Norma Lake (formerly Vickers-Mckenzie) is the best doctor I have visited. She is patient, knowledgeable, delivers accurate diagnosis and takes much time with me (which is almost non-existent these days). I trust her completely with my care. Her attention both in ond out of office has helped me greatly.
