Dr. Obli C M Mani, MD

My awesome PCP left HVMA three years ago just when I started to have some major health problems. Tried a PCP in BTR HVMA for three months who would not listen, was overbearing and demanding. Switched to Dr. Mani who always seems overbooked and rushed and does not keep on top of prescriptions. Doesn't seem to be able to assess medical problems or resolve them. My medical problems have increased in three years. I'm had enough with substandard health care from PCP.

I stopped seeing Dr. Mani over a year ago, but I am surprised to see how many other complaints on here are similar to mine. Dr. Mani on more than one occasion has either forgotten to follow up an appointment with me or refill a medication for me. She always seemed to show no interest in my concerns or my prior doctors concerns. I'm surprised Harvard Vanguard has kept her.

As a child and young adult I have always been healthy until about a year ago. I started having health issues and found Dr. Mani. The transition was very difficult as she knew nothing about me. I love the facility she is working at, it is clean modern and the other staff members are helpful. In the 8 months I have been seeing Dr. Mani I have seen her more than a handful of times with all the problems I have been having. Her solution was always lets run this blood work and would never diagnose me with anything or find out what was wrong. She never read any of my concerning letters I would send to her and when I get in the office she was oblivious of why I was even there. When I told Dr. Mani that I have chest palpitations and occasional high blood pressure and that I would like a referral to a cardiologist she completely disregarded me telling me there is no reason I need a cardiologist and made me feel so stupid and dumb like there was nothing wrong with me, even though I knew this… wasnt my normal. I spent thousands of dollars doing tests she wanted with no answer or follow-up ever. I just started seeing a different PCP this week and even though it has only been two days my doctor has already started giving me answers. Dr. Mani is a waste of time and money. DO NOT SEE HER.

Similar to another comment, I was assigned to Dr. Mani when my Dr. moved. I gave her a shot for a couple years, but I have moved on. Dr. Mani misdiagnosed my psoriasis. She also moved me to pap smears every 2 years even though I have a history of problems, which made me nervous after the psoriasis. She is very quick to diminish your concerns, telling me to try meditation and mindfulness. This is fine but it won't fix my psoriasis. The Harvard Vanguard practice in Quincy is also very hard to schedule with. They keep sending you to urgent care instead because they can't get you in for weeks. It is all very frustrating.

Dr. Mani was assigned to me when my Dr. left the practice. Everytime I was going to switch Dr.s it was a bad time, I found out I had cancer and she was on vacation so I saw her NP who is awesome and I only see her now. Still she has to oversee some of my medications and never gets it right or doesn't do it at all or sometimes just tries to pass the buck to another Dr. It's been years of me just getting upset or down right mad at her...she is my PC. Shouldn't I feel good about my Dr???

Dr. Mani is thorough, friendly, and confident. She gets right to the point and asks many questions that are relevant. She listens very carefully. I recommended her to my wife as well and my wife is similarly impressed saying "she is the best doctor I have had".
