Dr. Patricia Martin Sullivan, MD

This provider misdiagnosed and mismedicated me. She diagnosed me after a short zoom call and proceeded to communicate mostly via text message. She did not even use the proper medications for my incorrect diagnosis. I was over medicated and hospitalized with a severe condition from the meds and lack of proper care. The next psychiatrist I saw was absolutely disgusted at my chart and that I was having to be my own doctor under her care. It has been over 5 years and I am still unraveling the mess she created, both mentally and physically. I now have lifelong effects from the high-dose incorrect meds she had me on. I would NOT recommend using her for your psychiatric care.

In my experience, Dr. Sullivan is solely focused on medication options, versus learning the various other factors that contribute to overall mental well-being. Sessions amount to Dr. Sullivan largely asking what previous medications have been tried, then suggesting new "medication options" based on what the patient has yet to take. That, in my experience, is the be all, end all, of Dr. Sullivan's psychiatry approach. In the 15 months since I stopped seeing Dr. Sullivan, I have looked beyond the "medication options" she suggested, and focused instead on talk and DBT therapy. The result has been transformative financially, emotionally, and in terms of my overall well-being. A pill alone just wasn't going to yield well-being - no matter what Dr. Sullivan's intimations on that point.

Unethical, does not care about her patients. Do not waste your time. Very superficial.

I am suffering from depression and when I met with Dr. Sullivan for the first time I was more than disappointed with my visit. I went for a first visit which was supposed to be between 60-75 min, a get to know you visit. I spent less than 40 min with her before she dismissed me. In the meeting she asked me a few questions about myself like she was reading them off a checklist with no curiosity about my answers. This part of the meeting lasted about 15 min. After this perfunctory questioning she started talking about what drug to prescribe to me. She seamed irked when I told her that I wanted to research any drug before I started taking it and told me not to "believe everything that I read on the internet". I would never recommend her to anyone to that did not just want an anti-depressant without any thought to there situation.
