Dr. Paul S Laven, DO

I first saw Dr. Laven for unrelenting fatigue with no other symptoms that had gone on for 3+ months. He asked questions and really listened to me, ordered lab tests, and saw me again when the lab results were in. One of the tests he ordered was for EBV, not something a healthy 72 year old usually has. He treated me for reactivated EBV, and yes doctors can treat you for this. In less than a week I felt better. He also treated my husband who was equally pleased with his care. Dr. Laven is the best doctor I have had in decades.

This provider is awesome! He listens and is a able to offer a solution quickly and accurately. He has a gift and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to have him as my provider.

My entire family and I have been patients at Desert Valley Family Medicine in Ocotillo for the past ten years, and I have nothing but great things to say about it. The front office is incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help out with any concerns. I have witnessed multiple rude patients and their inappropriate temper tantrums, yet the front desk responds in a professional and respectful manner. As for the doctors, Dr. Laven has been absolutely amazing. He is always willing to go the extra mile when attending to his patients, whether it be for a quick check-up or a letter of medical necessity. Dr. Irons and Sun Jones are also great because they are very thorough with their appointments, and spend as much time needed with each patient. I continue to visit with this office today, and I recommend it to anyone with health concerns.

I am a new patient to his practice. The staff was so warm and pleasant my other doctors barely listen to me and the out the door. Dr. Laven sat down across from me listen to my history asked me questions. I felt very comfortable. I also liked the lab being in there office.Finally a decent doctor to help me!!

Not only is this doctor arrogant, but he is more concerned with pushing his "Vitamins" than actually seeing patients. He hires substandard nurse practitioners because he is too cheap to hire real physicians. His staff is limited and unfriendly. His office manager is inflexible and rude. And, there billing department has no idea what they are doing. Billed three times for services that I never had. He missed a diagnosis of a heart attack in my loved one over SEVERAL office visits. Death will come quickly if you see this physician. He is NOT EVEN BOARD CERTFIED!

Dr. Laven has been my primary care physician for twenty years. He has guide me through two cancers and Valey Fever, as well as the usual aches and pains. I know he cares about me personally by the follow-up calls he has made to me to check on my welfare. I would not ask for a better doctor.

Very professional, would refer him to friends and family, took a lot of time to review my lab reports and scheculed a follow up appointment. I am very happy with the staff, the waiting room and the Doctor. Very friendly and polite.

Dont ever use this place. The staff are mean and they suck. The Dr. ignored me. I had a medical emergency and I was ignored by both the staff and the Dr. I ended up in the ER later on in the day due to this. HATE HATE HATE this place.
