Dr. Paul Benard Moore, MD

Since being diagnosed with Type 2 I have seen several doctors. Dr. Moore has helped me maintain my A1c below 7 for several years. Dr. Moore has helped me with strategies to help lower my blood sugar. Dr. Moore had a dietician work up a personalized daily carb plan for me which has helped lower and than maintain my A1c. Other people just gave me the guideline for everyone which had me getting below 65 or 70 far too often because of the amount of exercise I do on a daily basis. He also prescribed a continuous glucose monitor which has allowed me to really take control of my blood sugar.

Paul listens, he explains things in a non-dismissive manner, and he has a warm and friendly demeanor. He is an excellent partner for the patient that wants to master his own care. Many doctors treat patients like they are children incapable of truth or understanding, so they hear nothing the patient says, and they explain nothing as they don't think the patient can think. And while this is often true, there are also many extremely intelligent patients that appreciate being part of their own care. And with every encounter, Paul always asks me something that relates to our work, his and mine. It is clear he relates to the patients, they are not just cattle .
