Dr. Peter Jones Geier, MD

Dr Geier was our first experience with Psychiatry, so we didn't realize at first that he completely disregarded our insight into our child's condition, spent little time with our child before prescribing more meds, and was more concerned about moving on to the next patient than caring for the one in his office. We finally woke up when he quickly suggested a very aggressive medicine for our child and realized we needed to get a second opinion. THANK GOD. We now know that there are much better choices in the area for psychiatry. Docs who spend more than 10 minutes with you and your child, explain medicines, admit that they don't know it all, and work with you as a team. You and your child deserve better.

Too few child psychiatrist and I have taken my child to 3 orther Dr. I am happy with Dr. Geier so far. We as parents must understand that it may take a few tries to get medications. and or diagnoisis right. Psychaitrist are not miracle workers. Its like detective work. Patience and therapy help. None of the psychaitrist spend quality time due to high caseloads. We spend more time with our children and must relay our observations, research and be advocates. Its ok to refuse a medication or suggest one and hope psychaitrist listens. And remember that newer medications for mental illness are n very, very expensive so we have to be realistic in medication choices. More expensive dosen't equal better!! Do your homework so you can help in the process. Dr. Geier has always returned all calls made in a timely manner. Psychaitrist are the only Dr. that give meds without imaging the brain. Dr. Geier does have a Neuro nackground which helps in deciding what medication will target specific part… of brain and neurotransmitters. Thats a big plus! Remember, all medications carry risk and sometimes you have ro take the risk when a childs mental welfare is at stake.

Stay away from this guy. He over prescribes. He's mean. He doesn't like you because in my relationship with him, he speaks horribly about his patients and their parents. He doesn't care. He's pretty dangerous. Stay away!

Very satisfied! Just started taking my child this past month, and made immediate medication change that has helped my child greatly!! He is very knowledgeable and gives parents resources and information sites to view, and is the FIRST Psychiatrist that has ever done this! Excellent choice I made for my child!

Brought my 15 yr old daughter for treatment. Dr. Geier was friendly, comforting, extremely through, and I am very pleased with the interaction. Highly recommended.

I am very disappointed because my ex wife took my child to see him and he place my daughter on Adal 5 mg and only heard my ex wife side andi try calling the office to give me a call and he does not return my phone call and how is he a excellent if. Does not return phone and it sounds one sided. Sound very fishy and the office staff is very rude also.

Excellent doctor, listens very well, great with kids. Is up to date on latest medicine and overall great doctor. Only wish is that he had more locations and that Jackie in his office have a better attitude and not be so rude.

Dr. Geier is the best. He is caring and very educated along with very smart.

the doctor charges for therapy that he does not perform. he is a good prescription writer but that is all that he does
