Dr. Peter Forrest Holmes, MD

Dr. Holmes replaced both of my knees and wrote the order for PT, but on the second one I had no way to make a 60 mile round trip three times a week. My sister lives 30 miles away so for her to come get me and make a PT appointment would have been NINETY miles for an hour. Fortunately the case manager helped me get some home health care set up. Nevertheless, I highly recommend him to my friend and she in now caught up in a web of "we don't do that". Holmes won't authorize home health and said "he doesn't DO health care." His office said to call the insurance company but THEY said HOLMES would have had to that before the surgery. Her primary care won't touch it. She bled copiously when the needle for the pain ball was removed and the tape they stuck it down with ripped her skin off which is now red, oozing and excruciating. Dr. Holmes, I withdraw my recommendation. You may be a great surgeon but your lack of care and compassion are abysmal. You did both of her husband's knees as well… as mine so that is five surgeries you profited from. You need to do better. Much, much, better.

I was pleased with the excellent care I received from Dr. Peter Holmes before, during, and after my hip replacement surgery. Dr. Holmes was always courteous and respectful. He listened to my concerns and gave me opportunities to ask questions, which he answered in a very professional, but caring manner. My recovery after my hip replacement surgery was smooth and complete under his guidance. I was impressed with Dr. Holmes' passion for his profession which was evident in the way he treated me as a patient.

If you need to get your life moving again with no pain, this is the guy to see. I have had knee pain for years. After surgery discussions about what the surgery entailed, what needed to be done and what I had to do after the surgery to help myself heal properly, I am almost virtually pain free. I would recommend Dr. Holmes and his staff to anyone wanting to get their life back. So glad I chose him!!!!

My total left knee replacement of two years ago continues to be problem free. Truly amazing since the left knee surgery my painful right knee improved to the point where it no longer causes me any discomfort.

I've been Dr Holmes patient for 20 years. He replaced both my knees then. Later he set a brutal spiral break in my humerus.He is caring but to the point when discussing your issues. I highly recommend this Dr.

I was wheel chair bound for 4 years; but after Dr. Holmes replaced my knees and my worn hip joints, my joint pain was reduced tremendously. I am walking again and am pain free. I am grateful that we have an orthopedic surgeon of his caliber in San Antonio and strongly recommend his services.

I’m extremely grateful for the awesome job Dr. Holmes did with both of my TKRs. Dr. Holmes & his staff kept me informed as to the process from start to finish. My first TKR recovery went well and at 8 weeks I was back to work with no restrictions! The second TKR went even smoother than the first. As with the first, I was cleared back to work with no restrictions. I am now pain free, except for the healing process pain (minimal). I went to several doctors before decided on Dr. Peter Holmes for my hip joint replacement surgery and that was the best decision I’ve ever made. He is an experienced and skillful orthopedic surgeon and his staffs are courteous and helpful. I appreciate his honesty and direct manner those are the qualities that I think every doctor should have. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Holmes recently performed a knee replacement on my 83 year old mother. He did and amazing job and was incredible in his moral support and encouragement during her recovery. He is an outstanding doctor.
