You won't find a better hand/arm/shoulder surgeon.

Dr. Stern was extremely genuine, and focused on the solution rather than the problem. I'd recommend him.

While I knew going in the first time that he would probably be late - and was - I was prepared. I found a concerned physician, one who listened, explained, and presented conservative options as appropriate. He had younger doctors in residency with him, and I was able to give input into their bedside manners - an important ability. Post-op, he explained things to my husband in a manner Hubby could understand, and most important of all, he talked with my husband on several other issues, which made Dr. Stern much more approachable and human to my husband, and then me. I find Dr. Stern's humor a delight. Lest you think I'm all aglow and in awe of him, let me say that I realize he has his days and times. Yes, he can be REALLY late. I also know he puts his pants on one leg at a time like me; I know he's there when the chips are down and someone is in an awful terrible need of him. Prior to my going to him, I knew of his reputation. That reputation had played a huge part in… my choosing him for my hand surgery. So, people can complain all they like about his lateness. I think they miss the reasons why he's late. They are truly unaware of what this man does and is in his specialty. Certainly they are unaware of how very fortunate we are to have his knowledge and skill available to us. I can think of a foreign country where the people would be very happy for his work, late or not. Don't let the crabbies get you down, Dr. Stern!!!

Dr. Stern is an excellent surgeon. I would definitely recommend him for any hand problems.

Last question not clear. I don't get follow ups after visits. The only visit that would have required one was my surgery and I did get a card. Should have an option of N/A. Dr. Stern has "AWESOME" bedside manners, very personable and great sense of humor.

The X-ray tech. was very rude when I asked her a question, I was told she was very busy and I was messing up her schedule, then she sent me out to the waiting area and told me to wait because I was wasting her time. I also am very allergic to latex and when I sat down for my post-op exam I broke out all over in a very nasty rash, I believe it was because somebody did not wipe the table down. When I realized what just happened and showed both Dr. Stern and the Intern, the Intern looked at me like I had two heads and then told me (as he was putting on a latex glove) that there was no latex around. Dr. Stern just walked away! The Interns response was not one of concern or caring but chose instead to ignore the problem and then act like I was just over reacting. He did not even suggest washing my arm off to help alleviate the reaction. When I got home I was very upset and did not understand the rudeness and lack of care from both Doctors so I immediately called and talked to the nurse… and was told that Dr Stern would like to know the problems that I had had in his office and would call back right away. This was a year and half ago and I am still waiting. I had to do my follow-up at another location with a new Doctor!!! Dr. Stern might be a good surgeon but his medical and office staff have missed the mark!!! I called them the other day to get a copy of my records, that they failed to send upon request a year ago, and was treated in the same manner. I will never go back or recommend this practice to anyone.

I would highly recommend Dr. Peter Stern to anyone that has a nerve injury. Dr.Stern will go out of his way to help you make a maxium recovery. You may have a long wait time. But this is only because when it is your turn he gives you the time needed to help you. Dr. Stern is very positive and only wants the best for you. An injury can be a life changing event. So you owe it to yourself to see Dr.Stern and remember he didnt cause your injury he only wants to help you.

Not only is Dr. Stern tops in his field but he is a very caring dr. He is "the best" when it comes to his knowledge and surgical skills on the hands.

Dr Stern is as late as three hours for scheduled appointments. Ihave had multiple trigger finger surgeries over a ten year period and not once has Dr Stern been on time. My last scheduled appointment was for 4:30 in the afternoon. Dr stern arrived at five o'clock. At five-ten, the receptions announce that Dr Stern was still two and one half hours behind schedule.
