Dr Philip Blazar, MD

Was very thorough in evaluating a tumor I had in my finger. As I work with my hands, this was so important to me. In addition, he was thoughtful and caring and a great listener.

Dr. Blazer was very kind and took his time explaining the procedures I was going to have. He performed Carpel Tunnel surgery on right hand and a procedure on my elbow. I have nothing bad to say about him or his staff. The experience was so positive, I am going back for left hand Carpel Tunnel surgery.

Dr Blazar seems to have done an okay job on my wrist surgery. What is a disaster is his organizational skills. Yesterday I had a 9:45 AM Post-Op appointment. I arrived, checked in and they brought me to an appmt room. I waited 45 mins, no Doctor, and stepped out of the room asking if I had been forgotten. I was assured that he would be in shortly. 45 mins later --- total 1 hour 30 mins --- still no Doctor. I finally just left. After I filed a complaint with BWH I received a call from someone in his office. I had just missed the call and so dialed right back. She did not answer and so I left a message. I never heard from them again. Service is very low on their priority list.

I broke my arm two months ago and was recommended to see Dr. Blazer. The first appointment was fine, he checked out my arm and put it in a cast. Following this i had to go back for X-Ray's I was welcomed by several hostile employees asking me why I showed up on a day he was not there. (At his direction). When I called to make a follow up appointment his assistant was extremely rude and told me it was "stupid" that I did not make an appointment before I left my last appointment. While in the cast I lost feeling in my thumb and when I called the nurse on call said "that was normal." When I finally went in to get my cast off, Dr. Blazer did not X-ray my arm while I was there. He spent about 3 minutes in the office with me and did not even look at the bruising. I called his office several times asking for the results of the X-Ray I had after the appointment with no call back. With little to no movement I have now had to get a second opinion where I was told the break did not heal properly.… Dr. Blazer and his office completely neglected all requests I had for follow ups as well as physical therapy. I would NOT recommend seeing him or dealing with his practice.

I have nerve damage on right hand,waited about 3 weeks for appt, wanted 2nd opinion from dr blazar,he wanted to look over my records told me to call 2 weeks, so I did, i got no call back from the doctor, only from some one saying he wanted me to see neurological, I have been there already,they told me there is nothing they can do,its a shame we have the best doctors in the world,but because another screwed up the surgery nobody wants to get involved with me, I guess most doctors are uninterested in getting involved in another doctors mess..buy a call back with a diagnosis would have been nice..just shuffle me off to neurology.

Dr. Blazar performed surgery on my wrist six years ago. The outcome and follow-up were excellent. Highest recommendation.

I highly recommend him, he did my carpal tunnel release surgery (both hands) Very smooth, no complications.
